I wanted to buy a brand new Lenovo tablet and have it shipped directly to a friend in Canada since she would be traveling and needed a laptop so she could draw digital art to make money while her desktop computer was packed up. However, Lenovo refuses to ship it's products outside the U.S. So, I decided to find a trusted seller on eBay and have them ship a new tablet to her, instead. The item shipped smoothly, and I was convinced that everything was well.

Because the laptop that was shipped was faulty and destined to not be unusable, my Canadian friend actually lost some work and was unable to contact me in a timely manner to relate the incident to me due to not having a computer at all while moving. This untimeliness of contact caused me to find out the product was faulty two months after it was purchased, as opposed to eBay's protection policy of only 45 days. However, I was still able to open a case, and the seller promised, in writing, to accept a return as a favor since the circumstances were unusual.

The item successfully arrived at the seller's address at 16:01 Eastern Standard time on the 11th of May, 2013. On the 14th of May, I started to feel concerned because the seller had so far been intentionally ignoring phone calls, text messages, eBay messages, and e-mails concerning the refund that he owed me at this point. An eBay Customer Service Representative attempted to contact him, and I waited 24 hours, unable to sleep, for some form of response.

On the afternoon of the 15th of May, I was becoming frustrated with the seller. So I contacted eBay with my frustrations, and the representative on the phone told me to escalate the eBay dispute and I would receive the refund in 24 to 48 hours. Instead, eBay closed the case and considered the matter "resolved" without a refund being owed to me at all. I investigated the listing, and found that the item had been relisted and resold during my claim, and that the listing had been altered during my claim so that axxii would no longer be held reponsible for selling the item as faulty and unusable, ripping another person off with the item I had just returned to him without getting a refund.

My Canadian friend and I are seriously stressed and upset over this issue. I had intended to do her a favor, only to get ripped off in the process, and she felt responsible for something that axxii had done to me. This eBay seller continues to ignore all forms of communication, and I suspect that I am not the first or last victim to this form of fraud on eBay, especially in the case of this particular seller, who commits fraud against his buyers after they cannot post negative feedback or get protection from eBay on the return the seller has promised.

Naturally, I am angry at this point, because axxii has blatantly taken advantage of me, and has made $1206.96 off of me without offering any product or services at all. I continue to try to call him, and I suspect that he is either screening my calls or has given a false phone number. As a college student, I cannot afford this level of fraud against me. As a war veteran, I am feeling an dangerous increase in blood pressure as this continues to remain unresolved.
