I ordered a Treo 650 phone with a 2 year Sprint PCS contract from younevercall.com. They promised a $130 rebate. After I got the phone, the instructions on the rebate said, wait 180 days, submit your phone bill, receipt, and barcode, we'll process your rebate. They also required that I sign a form saying they would automatically charge my credit card a couple hundred bucks if I cancelled the contract before the 2 years was up.

I mailed the rebate on the 181 day. On day 210, I get an email that my rebate was denied because by SprintPCS bill was invalid. What a crock. They said I could resubmit my claim before the 210th day, but this was the 210th day. There was no way to reach anyone by phone. Even though I bought the phone from younevercall.com, the rebate was processed by whereismyorder.com, and the rebate message came from rebatestatus.com. whereismyorder and rebatestatus are both 'powered by' a company called inPhonic, which has offices in MD.

Somebody is playing a game of 3 card Monte, and it looks like inPhonic is where the buck stops, but this is all an elaborate ruse. I contacted SprintPCS and explained my problem with this 3rd party vendor, and Sprint was very sympathetic and apologetic. They said they did not want to lose me as a customer and gave me $150 credit on my account. That was the right thing to do--but these inPhonic, whereismyorder, younevercall, rebate status charlatans should be prosecuted for conspiracy and fraud. There was nothing wrong with any of the information I sent them. I had it vetted by an attorney friend to be sure. I complied with the requirements of the contract--they defrauded me, pure and simple. Beware.

Hi again. Our company continues to maintain a top rating at the BBB - see our website and click through. We have consistantly dealt with complaints in a satisfactory manner - and things do go wrong when you are shipping thousands of phones a month. Again we are sorry we cannot make all of the people happy all of the time. And we are sorry that some people choose to write about their negative experience instead of giving us a chance to make it right. We encourage anyone who has a complaint to contact us with the relevant order information so we can respond. We also invite them to contact the BBB and complain if we are not able to rectify the situation in a reasonable amount of time. regards, Sam Michelson http://www.younevercall.com

I have seen on the internet other people complain of this comnay during teh same thing, actually alot of them claim to refund your "Rebate" after you have had your service for a certain period of time. I belive the person maiking the complaint, the compnay and eh indivdual acting as teh compnay just did not want to give up or already spent that awesome commision he got. Lesson learned watch out for these "Rebate" type deals!!

You are right. This boss obviously can't read. His response was enough to throw up red flags for me. Thank you to the original poster for the heads up on this company.

The guy that wrote the response, that claims to be the big bossman of this company, seems incapable of understanding simple English. For the last time, I DID contact the company, and got no response from them other than a silly and insulting rebuttal to my complaint. And yes, should feel sorry for me--since they ripped me off! What am I supposed to do, drive to the boiler room where they pretend to conduct business and demand they live up to their promises? And yes, if I am a typical customer then they should be very worried about their competition since they are clearly clueless about delivering customer support, much less the basic civil protocol of a polite society.

Hi, When we see a complaint like yours with no tracable details we suspect that you may be an unscrupulous competitor simply trying to badmouth our site. If that is the case - we actually feel sorry for you! Assuming you are an actual customer, we again request that you please contact us directly through the email address readily available on our websire so we can deal with this issue. Please note that we sell tens of thouands of phones to people whose names are John and Frank and Bob. It seems our personalized customer service may have led you to beleive that everyone in our corporate offices knows you and your family intimately, we truly have no idea who you are. The fact you are from Virginia does not help us much either. Each month we have shipped hundreds of orders to Virginia. Again - if you actually think you have a legitimate issue why not contact our company directly with your actual name and phone number together with your order number. best, Sam Michelson

I am the author of the original report. I DID contact the company, "younevercall.com". I got NO response from them then, and I still have not received a response since an executive of the company decided to insult me and make false claims in his rebuttal. Maybe he should have performed a little due diligence regarding this case before publicly making these false claims. "Younevercall.com" has my email address, my postal address, and my phone number. I have not been contacted via any of these means.

Customer Did not Contact Us - Decided to Bad Mouth us Instead

YouNeverCall sends many of its orders to Inphonic for fulfillment. Inphonic processed tens of thousands of orders for us during 2005. With this volume of orders there bound to be mistakes and we pride ourselves on addressing these in a timely manner. As far as we know this customer never contacted us via Fax, Phone or Email. Our contact information appears clearly in our BBB (better business bureau) profile. We are happy that the carrier was able to help out the customer, but we are sorry we were not given the opportunity. It probably is wise to exhaust normal channels before lodging public complaints against businesses. Thanks for providing this forum for our response.
