We contacted this person off of CRAIGS List . They Had an RV listed as an indevidual (not dealer) . The Ad is as follows2003 21 ft roadrunnerbumper pull, light weight for easy pulling.  Roof air conditioning  , roll awning, cd player, sleeps 6 , very nice, ready to go.  Title in hand.  $4500 OBO.   First of all, she told me all that was wrong with the awning was a little pin.  Turned out, the awning was missing a mounting bracket, the place where the pin goes is ripped out and also missing one of the poles.  Can not even roll the awning out.  The painted the tires with some sort of black coating to hide weather cracks.  Turned out the tires dry rotted and 13 years old.  The said the floors were fine, turned out, they had covered the floors with carpet and who knows what else to hide the fact that they were all rotted.  Roof vents on the roof had been replaced with no sealant and put on with dry wall screws.  Found many cracks in the roof, brakes were shot, as well as wheel bearings.  When I asked her about the floors being soft, she said it was the padding under the carpet.

So far we have invested close to a $1000 in labor and materials and the camper is still a piece of junk.  The floors and main frame are so rotted, they are beyond resonable repair.  We tried to call her as soon as we got home with the camper, many many times and she refuses to answer.  Even after we told her that we were going to go to the better business bureau.  Turned out that they are operating as a company out of thier house and just throwing campers together to pass on to unsuspecting buyers.  These people are real con artist.  They didn't even sign their name to the title or bill of sale,  all they put down was N Campers and N Young.  The ladies husband is a notary , but that is the only information that we can find on them, other than the address where we picked up the camper.

AS IS

When you buy a vehicle from an individual, you buy it AS IS.  The seller isn't required to tell you everything that's wrong with a vehicle, it's up to you to either figure it out yourself, or ask a mechanic to look it over -- BEFORE YOU BUY IT.  I don't know why you are harassing the seller, because they don't owe you anything (unless there was a written warranty of some sort, which I really doubt).  You should have inspected the floor, roof, and subframe, which are all well-known failure points of any RV or trailer.  You can check the date codes on the tires, and it certainly isn't unreasonable to expect the brakes and bearings on a 12-year-old trailer to not be in the best shape.
