Ever see those pop-up ads for "Get a $50 Gift Card for Target...WalMart" etc.? Well, take my word for it and ignore them. The ploy goes something like this...

You are asked to participate in or purchase a sponsor's product or membership program, such as a credit card, book club or internet service. In exchange for your fulfilled participation, you will receive a $50 gift card. Don't hold your breath!!!

I enrolled in The Good Cook Book Club through YourGiftCards.com on 11/18/03 and it has been a nightmare of emailing these people ever since (no listed phone number) to try to get them to issue my gift card. Initially, the Book Club said they didn't have any idea who YourGiftCards.com was, and that they were not a participating sponsor. However, when I gave them proof otherwise, they helped me the best they could, by sending the approval through the email to be forwarded to YourGiftCards.com. Finally last week, when I checked the status of the gift card, it said "Approved".

What you have to do at this point is to click on the "Approved" and an email is sent to you to verify and confirm the mailing information to which they will send your gift card. NOT.

I have attempted several times to get the email by clicking on the "Approved" but no confirmation email ever arrived. So, I am a member of a Cook Book Club, that I probably would not have joined otherwise, and still awaiting my gift card (which will most likely never come). Just remember, you were forwarned.
