Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 04/15/23 I had paid $1,500 on a white, 2011 Toyota Rav4 vehicle from Canon Motors. The guy that sold it to me had been very nice during the time that I had paid on it. On the way to driving it home it had sounded like something is wrong with the brakes they had been squeaking. I had begin had problems out of the vehicle a couple of weeks after getting it. I had called in about it. The same guy had got smart with me and told me that the vehicle is sold "as is" & I cannot get my $ back. I had thought that you could get your $ back if it had not been 30 days. Anyways, I had kept paying for the vehicle every month faithfully. I get disability payments. My money comes early. I always be a month ahead of time every time that I pay. Every time that there had been an issue I would get the same type of response from that guy & he would refer me to another number to call. If I desired for them to fix, they said that they would charge a pick up fee + whatever the fee that it cost to fix it. I would have to go back to Calhoun City, MS to pick it up. Calhoun City, MS is 48.1-51.3 miles (56-59 minutes) from my current city. Anyways, I had just paid $340 to get the starter fixed in my vehicle in October 2023. It had got fixed from a local repair shop in my city. It had quit on me at my mother's house. I had to go roadside assistance to come pick me up and carry me home. The guy that had came to get me had taken my vehicle to his friend's shop to repair it. I had paid my last payment to Canon Motors in the late part of October 2023 (it had been for the month of November 2023). I had called Canon Motors to ask them can they give me to end of the month. They had said okay. On the morning on Friday, 12/01/23 around 11:00 A.M. they had came to repossess my vehicle. I had been faithfully paying them $342 + an extra $5.95 (fee required to call in to pay over the phone) monthly + had given them my $1,500 down payment + had put $340 into fixing the starter on it. Back in August 2023 or September 2023 my vehicle would not crank. A cousin of mines had to give me a boost off. He had looked at it & told me that I need a new battery. That battery that I have on my vehicle is bad. I had gone to Auto Zone in my city to buy a good used battery for like $89+tax. My vehicle begin back cranking good. I have put so much of my blood, sweat, $, sacrifice, & tears into this vehicle. That vehicle is 12 years old. That had been too much $ to be paying for that monthly anyway. There is no telling how many other people have probably had it over the years. They had claimed that the person that had it before me had traded it in. I do not believe that. I believe that they had repossessed that from them too. The fee that I had been paying for that is the price that people are supposed to pay for newer vehicles. They are low down, dirty, & evil. This is 100 percent true facts about them. I had got 2 letters from them earlier this week saying that I have 10 days to pay off the vehicle for $8,000 or it is going to be shipped off to auction. I had called that lady that is over collections about it. She had told me that I would just have to pay them $696.66 ($340 of it is for the repo fee) to pick it up. She had told me that on 12/15/23 that I would have to pay $342 again. That would be a total of $1,038.66.

Prior to the closing YOU would have had the opportunity to contact the lender to see what the rate was. Obviously YOU DID NOT. Enjoy your loan.

You all are paid shills.

You all paid shills. I had read comments from you all across RipOffReport. My credit is very good; especially during that time. It is so good that other dealerships had offered me a current 2023 vehicle for that same price or just $100 extra. This is not an English test. I do not care about you all trying to correct my English. Most people in life and globally do not speak or write correct English. That is only appropriate if you are doing things that are professionally. He did get smart for me. Canon Motors is notorious for doing this to people as well as many other dealerships. It is how they stay in business for scamming people. They are going to get their karma. The majority of people that get vehicles from them is either Black people or poor Caucasian people. If people stop getting things from them, then they can no longer do people like that. They get those vehicles from auction for just like $1,000-$2,000. That means that I have paid for that vehicle. It had just been $8,000. Once they had put interest on it, it had been $15,000+ total. Futhermore, I am sure that they do not apply those same rules to themselves if they have a vehicle from Canon Motors.

First, there is no 30 day return policy for used cars.  It's not Walmart.  You buy it, it's yours as soon as you sign on the dotted line.  The seller owes you absolutely nothing.

Second, same goes for the price.  You bought the car for whatever price you and the dealer agreed on.  Apparently, you thought it was a reasonable deal when you purchased the car, so it's a little late for that.  It sounds like you have terrible credit, so obviously the interest rate and selling price have to be extremely high for them to lend money to someone with a reputation for not paying it back.  And yes, it is quite likely that the previous owner defaulted on their loan, too.  Most people with bad credit default on their loans, a lot.  That's why they have bad credit.

Third, starter, brakes, and battery repairs are normal maintenance, not signs there is something wrong with the car.  The money you spent on those repairs is irrelevant.

Fourth, when you pick up the car, you have to pay the repo fee as well as to make the loan current.  Perhaps they want the payment for next month, too, to avoid this situation repeating.

What Kind of "mines"?

Why can't you people make some simple effort to speak with and write as if you went to grade school??? To deliberately sound like a dummy is some sort of badge of honor? How stupid is that? The word in the context you used it is "MINE". There is no 30 day "cooling off" period unless it is in that contract you probably didn't even read before you agreed to its terms. Payments are due each and every month. Looks like YOU failed to make payments and YOU caused the repo. If you would have read what you were agreeing to before you agreed to it, you would have seen it was an AS IS purchase which means YOU pay for all repairs because you aren't ENTITLED to free warranty service. Don't waste your time writing back something stupid like "you must work for them". I'll tell you ahead of you...I don't.

You Need to Learn How Car Sales Work

The salesperson was absolutely correct that it was an as-is sale with no warranty. They didn’t "get smart” with you by giving you correct information. It was your own foolish decision to not learn the law and to not get it checked by a mechanic. You didn’t pay, so it got repo’d. WTF did you think was going to happen? Do you think there are dealerships that will just let you stop paying and keep the vehicle?
