JUNE 2023
I waited abuot 5 weeks for Clay County Treasurer to process my registration application. After having no response from them, I called. Danielle told me that she returned my paperwork only because I used a Power of Attorney and they won't accept that any more for some reason. She said that if I didn't use a Power of Attorney then there would have been no problem with my paperwork.
But she didn't know where she mailed my paperwork, doesn't know when she mailed it, and has no tracking information. I was not contacted by email at any time even though I provided my email address. I have two other co-workers who submitted their paperwork at the same time and they never received their paperwork back from Clay County Treasurer.
So know we are all scrambling trying to get duplicate titles and duplicate original documents and bills of sale at great pain and cost.
And believe it or not, Danielle said that it was our fault that she lost, destroyed or disposed of our paperwork since we should have known that they don't accept Powers of Attorney any more. I am not sure we were ever told that they don't accept Power of Attorney any more.
But one thing is for sure, she had no right to throw away our original documents or to handle them so carelessly that she has no idea where she allegedly mailed them, when she mailed them, didn't contact me in advance to tell me what was going on, and didn't use tracking to mail them back to me. Now they are lost and she is blaming me for her negligence and carelessness.

A third coworker just told me that he did not use a Power of Attorney but that the Clay County Treasurer said that she returned his paperwork to him about one month ago but he has not received it. She never contacted him by email (and he provided his email) to tell him of the status and apparently just threw his original title and dealer documents away even though he did not use a POA.
He said that the Clay County Treasurer won't register any of the vehicles for people in our company only because the Clay County Treasurer doesn't want to receive any applications from anyone who may have received help in filling out the registration forms.
Even though this third co-worker filled out all his own paperwork and didn't use a Power of Attorney, he is an employee of our company and our office manager mailed his paperwork for him. So since the office manager mailed his paperwork to the Clay County Treasurer for him - despite the fact that he filled out all the paperwork himself - the Clay County Treasurer apparently threw away his important original documents only because HE WORKS FOR OUR COMPANY AND WAS TOLD BY THE Clay County Treasurer that they will no longer accept any applications from employees of our company ONLY BECAUSE OUR OFFICE MANAGER HELPS US BY SOMETIMES MAILING THE PAPERWORK FOR US. So now Clay County Treasurer will apparently throw away original titles only if she thinks that someone else may have helped you mail the documents to the Clay County Treasurer.
Stay away from these crazy, vindictive people because they will make up any dumb rule at any time to be vindictive and will lose or throw away your original documents.
The Clay County Treasurer told this other employee that she don't use tracking to return documents because that is a customer expense. But the Clay County Treasurer never even contacted me or my co-worker to tell us she was returning the paperwork and did not ask if we wanted to pay for tracking. And she had our contact information (email addresses).
By the way, this happened in June 2022, not June 2023. I posted the wrong date in my original post.
