I have been a customer of Denker Laundry for the last year, and 4 months ago I began to notice how they’re having a negative impacted on the surrounding neighborhood. Los Angeles is perfect, however, racism is not welcome here and will not be tolerated. On February 2, 2020 I was harassed and called a "miata,” which translates to "n****r” in English, by three Latino employees.

This came after the eldest of the three employees, had an attitude with me for requesting to use the restroom after I had loaded my clothing into the washing machines. I didn’t notice the negative chatter until I walked back into the building to move my wet clothing into the dryers. I could hear the two older & 1 young female employees talking about with another male customer.

The two older employees stood by the entrance of the building staring at me sitting in my car until my clothes were done & I left. When I came back the next day to speak with the owner, I was told by a man named Marco "... no one knows the owner just the manager.” Another Latino female was present as well. I still asked to speak with the manager.

An Indian man named Hassan Khan came out of an office, and I told him what happened the prior business day. I described each employee involved, and one of them was present; her name is Rosa. Rosa doesn’t speak English, so the other Latino woman present translated for her. Rosa did not deny what happened, but insisted that she was the only working on the clock that day.

I asked who were the other two females that she was laughing with, but she did not answer the question. The manager Hasan chimed in twice, only to assert that they may have been customers. Hasan went on to say ".. we can’t control the behavior of others.” The manager Hasan Khan disregarded my complaint of racism, and failed to acknowledge or even ensure that he would do a full investigation of what happened.

This laundromat has already had all of their windows facing Florence Avenue broken, about a month ago. There are multiple grade schools within a couple of miles of this business, and I believe this business is adding to the violence within the immediate area. The Denker Laundromat is Indian owned and Latino operated, and they’re racist behavior towards the Black residents in this neighborhood is unacceptable.

They do not give back to our community in anyway, they only add negativity. A citation would only be a slap on the wrist, we do not want them here.

Nobody cares about your racist opinion you troll.  You complain about the Indian and Latino people in your neighborhood - you sound like some red-neck whitey from 60-70 years ago complaining about uppity blacks adding nothing to your community.

Change the colors and you sound no different than that.  Complaining about a businessman providing a service for the community that no one else would open (including you) for the benefit of the community....is stupid.

Time for you to go away.

You’re not a kid, you’re a child. A child who has to resort to name calling, after being called out for inserting their ignorant opinion into a racial matter. Pretty pathetic. Also, I’m not in the business of writing article responses to online consumer complaints daily. Especially regarding incidents you lack experience in, foolish child. Go be bothersome somewhere else internet troll.

I don't think I have been called a kid for a few decades so thanks for that, it really made my day.

Your update shows you are not only a racist, but you also believe in censorship. If I told you to "be quiet" I can guarantee you that the first words out of your mouth would be "H*** NO" and probably say I am racist, without you even knowing what race I am.

For all you know I am African American, perhaps I have an African American spouse.  Perhaps I have had to deal with true racism.  Perhaps I had to flee a country where my race was being assasinated for just being a certain color.  Perhaps I seeked refuge in the US because of my religion.  Before you start screaming the standard mantra that no one knows your "suffering"...perhaps you should actually do some real thinking and less following.

The fact is that you posted on a PUBLIC web site, and as such the PUBLIC can respond and may not always agree with your posts and provide alternate opinions. Contrary to what you want to belive, I do not have any association with this business.

But with your posts you are coming through loud and clear. If you are in a "black" neighborhood and a business isn't owned by a black person they need to be shut down...Got it.

If you want to combat racism then you need to first look within.   You should also have every one of  our fellow people who want this business to leave because they aren't black to read this instead of picking up rocks and breaking windows.

First, this is a public website - if you don't like that - too bad.  Los Angeles is a pretty cool city and we don't tolerate people like you (moron) as a part of it.  The reality is this:  you're a low-brow in a neighborhood of low-brows.  When the both of you have a dispute....there is no winner.

The manager Hasan chimed in twice, only to assert that they may have been customers. Hasan went on to say ".. we can’t control the behavior of others.”  That's correct - not only can't he control the behavior of others, he cannot even refuse service to anyone coming into his store - at least according to city law and the store's business license also prevents it.

...and I believe this business is adding to the violence within the immediate area.  If all of the windows on one side of the building are being broken, then the building is a victim of the violence of the area, not a part of it.  The only people who would have an interest in breaking the windows are the people who live in the community.  People who do that are animals....perhaps you even know who they are?

They do not give back to our community in anyway, they only add negativity. A citation would only be a slap on the wrist, we do not want them here.  Really?  Who exactly is "them" and "they"?  The only person that's a racist here is you.  You don't like the Indian population and you don't like the Latino population.  You make that pretty clear.  The next time you go to the laundromat, make sure you bring a lot of bleach with you, so when you decide to wash your white sheets before your next KKK meeting, you won't be made fun of...

You are a total embarassment to the community....

Nevermind my typos.

This is a serious matter kid, in which does not revolve around your opinions on non-Black business owners disregarding their own racist practices against the very members of the community they serve. I implore you to research the term "racism," and educate yourself before responding to such a complaint.

If you are not associated with the owners or employees of Denker Laundry, you should be quiet.

No matter what language hateful words are spoken in, it is unacceptable.

Now who is the racist?

I read your report and there appears to be only one racist, and to find that racist all you need to do is look in the mirror. If you are going to go quoting Spanish slang words at least spell them correctly. While I am not going to post the actual spelling, you are basically saying that they called you a Japanese car.

This laundromat has already had all of their windows facing Florence Avenue broken,

- Unless you are going to accuse them of breaking their own windows, seems like you have an issue with the neighboorhood. Obviously someone in the neighboorhood doesn't want them, and sounds like that someone might be you.

I believe this business is adding to the violence within the immediate area

- Other than having their windows broken, how exactly are they adding to the violence? I guess by your logic since they are getting their windows broken, the people doing it shouldn't be held accountable. Instead they should shutdown and just leave. Yea, I'll just let you think about that.

They do not give back to our community in anyway, they only add negativity.

- The only negativity seems to be coming from you.

A citation would only be a slap on the wrist, we do not want them here.

- A Citation for what? For someone coming and breaking their windows?  For someone who may not even be related to the business using certain terms?  You may find it disgusting but there is nothing you have described that is illegal.

By the way who is "we"?  If you don't want them there, then don't patronize them. If others feel the way you do, they will eventually leave and you will have a nice empty building and have to travel even farther to travel.
