I hired Evergreen Car Detail to clean the interior of my car. Not only was the job not done at the agreed upon time, the owner left the doors of my car open in the rain to the point that the electrical system of my airbags flooded, failed and now must be replaced in order for my car to be driven safely. I also had to have the door frames removed and rails dried out - there was that much water inside my car. My damages are over $1300.
He claims that since he refunded me the amount of the car detailing that I shouldn't be able to file an insurance claim with his insurance company. He is claiming that I agreed to be "even" because I accepted a refund for the job that he didn't complete, and that it was my responsibility to warn him about how water can cause the electrical system to fail. I want to be reimbursed for the damages to my car.
