During the week of April 4-9, 2022, a Five Star Painting crew, overseen by Paul Bowers, worked in Elite Dance on an interior painting job we hired this company to complete. We pre-paid for this job in full via credit card deposit on January 15, 2022 and balance via check on March 15, 2022.
Upon the crew’s arrival at Elite Dance on the morning of April 4, 2022, we were told our paint quality was “demoted” and would be downgraded to a different and lower quality paint. We were promised reimbursement for this downgrade. As of this date, no reimbursement has been provided.
On Friday, April 8th, I did a walk-through with Paul and noticed multiple mistakes with accent walls being painted incorrectly. He scheduled a crew to come out the following morning to fix the problems.
I arrived on Saturday evening, April 9th, after the 2nd crew fixed the issues. Upon my entering the building I immediately noticed splatters of paint all over my specialty poured black rubber flooring. I also took note our accent walls were incomplete, our specialty cut sunshades were broken and no longer able to roll up or down, our baseboards were covered in paint, and our custom made ballet barres were also covered in paint. I immediately called Paul who told me he was very sorry and would work on “fixing” the problems.
Between the dates of April 9, 2022 and April 20, 2022 I emailed back and forth with Paul Bowers and Mary Jo to try and find a resolution to my problems caused by the crew. It took until April 20, 2022 to finally get in touch with the owner, Scott Specker. His first email states “I am very sorry my crew left your flooring in this condition. Please trust me that we can handle this and it will be a distant memory for you.”
Between April 21, 2022 and May 21, 2022 Scott tried and failed to find a cleaning company to attempt to remove the paint from my lobby flooring; until he hired Tammy. Unfortunately, Tammy’s cleaning crew (which was hired by Scott) permanently dented/gauged holes/scratched several hundred spots on my lobby floors while attempting to remove your paint. I was in the building the entire time and watched them use scraping tools on my flooring, to which I voiced my concern about, and was assured they would not cause any damage to my floors.
As of May 26, 2022, Scott now no longer claim responsibility for my flooring because they were “dusty” when his crew arrived. I informed him that dirty flooring isn’t permanent damage, but holes in my flooring from his hired cleaning crew was. At this time I asked for a full refund on fees paid in order to replace my now damaged lobby flooring. Since this date, you have not returned any emails, texts, or phone calls trying to come to an agreement on reimbursement for damages.
