Simply put, I am a 69 year old disabled woman and was not up to running around town to purchase everything I needed for Christmas. I tried to order from my local stores, but Instacart is the company they use for deliveries. Instacart entered a "hold" on my credit card, which could only be lifted by my financial institution and they are not open on the weekends. Whether or not they knew what that hold would do, I cannot say for sure. To get what I needed, I was forced to use my debit card which has now been cancelled and had to be replaced to stop charges Instacart had no right to process. Instacart entered "Pending" transactions for an excessive amount of money on both my credit card and my debit card.

Instacart did not allow the shoppers to give me the receipts from the stores where the items were purchased, they want you to look at your receipt on their website. This is not what I wanted, especially when one of the shoppers did provide a receipt with my groceries. I do not know how much money they robbed, but my financial institution reimbursed $50.64. With my debit card now out there, other charges appeared on my transaction statement, these charges were also reversed on my behalf.

I never want to use Instacart again, but who else is going to do the deliveries. The stores are doing business with Instacart and can not do anything if Instacart does not do the right thing. Instacart has complaints for withholding tips from the shoppers without explanation; taking payment from customer accounts but not delivering the items; delivering items that were not ordered; do not resolve customer or employee's issues; etc.
