I didn’t post these pictures before as I was hoping the resort would do the right thing. Do not ever stay at Island Palms Resort magnetic island. We arrived on the Saturday 28/12/19, I felt something bite me from the carpet. I didn’t think much of it.
Next day I was covered in bites. I went to the doctor who confirmed it was bed bugs!! Never had them before. We got moved rooms, but continued to experience bites. We left a day early and it cost me a lot of money to change/book flights.
Both my kids developed bites on the Friday. The resort is refusing to compensate me for the flights or medical expenses and claims there is no bugs. I have travelled to more than 60 countries and this has been the worse experience imaginable.
It has been 2.5 weeks and there is still bites, which could leave permanent scars. I have been in contact with DAE who told me to contact the resort. The resort has not gotten back to me and removed my reviews. To me this shows their guilt.
I have had another family come forward who stayed in the same room and had issues. The health department is now investigation the resort.
