Buyer beware - this is what they say "Ryoko has come to me ready to use with a SIM card pre-installed. So, all I have to do is just turn it on and use it! Ryoko covers more than 38 countries, so I can forget about using unsecure public Wi-Fi or paying for high international roaming charges. With Ryoko I can stop worrying about the safety of my personal data, as it protects my data with secured connection."
These are the facts: Yes it comes with a sim card. Yes they give you a one time use 500MB data card. NO, it is not ongoing. NO they do not disclose that if you want to use it you have to purchase a month to month plan. NO, they do not offer a charge as you go plan.
So in essence, you buy a portable router that will work one time with a supplied 500 MB single use data bunch. Then you have to buy into a month to month plan - or you have a worthless piece of technology that makes a great paperweight. NONE of this is disclosed up front on their ads.
Misleading - "I can connect my phone, my laptop and my wife’s tablet and phone at once, and they've all got high-speed Internet! Actually, it allows to connect up to 10 devices, which will work out a lot cheaper than paying for a mobile data plan for each of these devices. This thing is a life saver!" A clear lie! - you still have to pay for a data plan through them - but they never say it
Another three lies
✔ No contract - pure BS - go to www.viaota.com/plans -- NOTE the plan costs are in Euros
✔ No hidden charges - see above - this was NEVER disclosed up front in any of their ads.
✔ Top-up your data online, anytime - only if you purchase a monthly plan and pay in Euros ( with exchange rate and charges for conversion to USD)
There is NO US based address listed to return the product to - if it is only overseas returning it will be more than problematic. The SIM card may or may not work - and it is a one time use only. Their (so-called) customer support is a joke. All in all - bottom line here is to avoid this and any product sold from RYOKO like the plague
The old adage of "if it sounds to good to be true - it probably isn't" In this case it is a massive scam based on lies and misrepresentation - do NOT buy anything from RYOKO - if they lie about this they'll lie about everything they sell
Oh, and another thing they fail to disclose - they do NOT offer a full and complete refund as they claim - they also rip you off for a 15% restocking fee added to ripping you off with deceptive advertising and not disclosing that you do not get what you paid for nor what they advertised.

If you received information about this device probably because you had to find it on your own or reseach from Web. I have "top off": 3 time and each time was different process. This device is, in my opinion, something you can purchase and use for entertainment purposes only. The device works great but customer service is horrible. I purchased via a website and there was no information about the data plan. I fully excepted additional charges associated with purchasing this device and purchase price not big deal.
However, Omission of information, cleaver terms ..."topping off" , fact that you lose data if you top off with remaining data from previous data purchase. The fact that you can buy data but customer service has to apply the data to link your account, until then still have a device that does not work. It took 3 weeks for someone in customer service to pick up the phone(everything blamed on Covid)and apply data that I purchased 3 weeks ago on line.
If you want to take a chance of having a device for whatever reason, just use your cellphone hot spot device. The customer service is worst I have ever experienced(Ex. called Customer Service placed in que Number 150. After waiting almost 45 minutes and my number was called., they informed me no one was able take my call. I have 15 email from customerservice with no one ever helping me with my data purchase or anything regarding after purchase informatiion at all. There are link to website for manuals and data and this or that but you learn and informed only as you go or when eventually speak to someone who gives you information if you ask.
No way standard business practices and definitely not a company seems have commitments of providing best level of service to their customers. All legitimate complaints speak for their advertising and marketing.....WEAK AND SUSPECT.

We really need to go after these guys! So many have been scammed by them! It’s unbelievably sad the lengths people will go to in order to scam hardworking people out of their money. I’ve filed a report here and will be contacting PayPal, the BBB and possibly even a lawyer to inquire about a class action lawsuit. Karma is coming for them but so should the law!

If you could read and understand simple english then youd have found the issue yourself . Since you lack the ability to clearly see it - I’ll use your analogy and your own description to help you find it. One can buy router and knows it will require a contract to use it. Your company claims there is no contract does it not? Do you outright state that to use it it does require a contract? Do you disclose that if a customer catches you in that lie that in order to return your product you will charge them a 15% restock fee?
What part of non-disclosure do YOU not understand? Do you tell the customer that the 500MB is a one time deal? Didn’t disclose that either did you? No hidden charges - what do you call having to sign a contract for service that you claimed was no contracts? You So you see you can try and BS your way out of the simple truth - but the facts clearly show you to be a liar. And as shown by your own attempts yo reverse the facts that you and your operation cannot be trusted for anything you sell

I challenged your claim yet you failed to answer the question, "Specifically, what nondisclosure law did the seller violate?" Apparently, you don't know the definition of specific.
"The lies told were identified as facts NOT conjecture"
Specifically, what were the lies?
Common sense should tell you that an internet data plan is required.
A coffee grinder requires beans. A washing machine requires laundry soap. A camel requires wheat and oats. A router requires an internet data plan for internet access.
Posted on the website [https://ryokorouter.com/terms] that you provided:
TERMS OF SERVICE
MUAMA Ryoko – Portable wireless Wifi 4G Router
2.6 All Ryoko devices purchased from Us will come with a prepaid Viaota SIM card capable of a 4G internet connection. Each Viaota SIM card that comes with the Ryoko device will have a limited amount of data (500 megabytes) prepaid in the card. Once You use out all of the prepaid megabytes that come with the SIM card, you can either top up the card and continue using the same SIM card or You can use any other SIM card that has 4G connection capabilities.
Now you know.

The report assuming you can read is based on what is said and what is advertised. The lies told were identified as facts NOT conjecture - whichyou cannot dispute! Referencing their so-called customer support - still waiting for an RMA - not even a response. So it would appear the laugh is pn you and your pathetic attempt to defray facts by changing the narrative.
Perhaps YOU should look up the laws governing violations of non-disclosure laws and false and misleading representation of a product. Come back any time - love throwing facts back into the face of morons

You actually expected to receive unlimited internet access and the device for a single $89 charge? That's quite hysterical. Auto dealers frequently offer a free tank of gas with a car purchase so apparently you think they should be required to inform the customer that the car will require additional fuel throughout the life of the vehicle.
Specifically, what nondisclosure law did the seller violate?
Thanks for the laugh.
