Nebraska Child Support Said I had been overpaid in child support and were taking money back without any proof that an overpayment was made. It totals over $2,0000 and I feel as though I’m being ripped off. Lincoln Nebraska
I receive child support from two different fathers. I notice last year while reviewing amount paid to me and called them to inquire about a payment they said I was paid in 2014 but did not remember receiving. I then remembered that it was a tax intercept and they had said that I would not be getting and was going to be sent back to irs. Then not even a month later I get a letter to say that I was overpaid a little over $2,000.00. I call to request a bank statement because I truly felt that I never received it.
I then received one statement with nothing on it then I requested another and nothing on it. Finally I called again then received a statement and it showed transactions but I really do not ever remember getting this! I’ve thought about calling the irs to check on this but I wouldn’t know if I have the appropriate information for them.
Min top of it all they are taking money from the parent to which the overpayment isn’t owed. I feel that something just isn’t right with all of this and any help would be truly appreciated.
