I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent experience I’ve had as a Soundstripe subscriber. I have been a Pro Plus yearly subscriber with Soundstrioe since December 2023, primarily to use their music in my YouTube channel. Last week, I received an email from Eric Mattijs, who claimed I had violated their terms and conditions, insisting that I remove Soundstripe’s music from over 10 of my videos on my YouTube channel.

He further threatened legal action if I failed to comply. As someone who has invested significant time, effort, and money into building my channel, this was both alarming and disheartening. At the time of subscribing, it was my understanding that my Pro Plus membership granted me the freedom to use their music on my YouTube channel, as long as I remained a subscriber. I have been using other music outlets as well without any issue because I have paid for thenecessary rights to their music.

In fact, one of Soundstripe associates even assured me that I would have no problem using Soundstripe music for my channel under my current subscription. I am completely dumbfounded by this sudden change. After nearly a year of using their music without issue, I received an unexpected email threatening legal action. To make matters worse, when I requested a full refund for my subscription, I was denied and told that I was ineligible for a refund of the $399 I paid. I strongly believe that these business practices are misleading, and I feel cheated out of my hard-earned money. I feel that this is very unfair. I am highly disappointed by the way Eric and his company have handled this situation, and I feel that I’ve been misled and treated unjustly. I would greatly appreciate any help in resolving this issue. A refund or a fair resolution would go a long way in restoring my trust in Soundstripe.
