Top Catering Top Restaurant and Catering, Tim Pham BEGS FOR MORE UPFRONT MONEY, REFUSES TO GIVE BACK DEPOSIT Huntington Beach California
****DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TOP CATERING AND TIM PHAM****
Since the day that we signed the DATE RESERVE contract and sent the deposit of $2000, it was red flag after red flag. It's so funny because he even texted me "imagine if I tried to cheat you and your fiance over 2k?" - but you did, Tim. You took our money and refuse to give it back.
In fact, I had to send a demand letter and about to take legal action to get our refundable deposit back! It has been since May 27th that he refuses to refund our deposit. We've asked him to refund our deposit through email, text, a yelp review, and a demand letter.
1. He will dangle discounts and upgrades if you give him more money upfront. He will not stop asking until you respond. Then another week later, he will text you again with discounts and upgrades. I have never had a vendor text me DAILY, to get more money from me.
2. Since the contract (it was just to reserve the date and the rate) stated that the deposit is refundable, we decided to cancel the contract. It was too much. I've never seen this type of 'begging" behavior form a vendor before. And guess what? First, he said he can't send it back because it was a holiday weekend. Then several days later, he says his Chase bank account was hacked and couldn't send money. 3. AFTER my Yelp review, he sent me a settlement agreement, telling me that taking down my yelp review was part of the settlement (why are we settling, for my refundable deposit, as if i did something wrong?).
I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TOP CATERING.
