#1 Discount Tax Return Service Ate return 3/27/09. Blankafter logon, 3/30. Doesn't recognize logon, 3/31 - 4/12. Internet
3/29/2008, I fell for the presence of this outfit on the IRS "free" web site.
Went through the filing steps for Fed and California State returns. Clicked "File Fed only" choice when it turned out they charged for the State return. Got paid two days later and went back to the site ready to pay the State filing fee and get it over with --- only to get a blank page after logging on.
I reported this to their on-line help. There's no phone access.
The blank page after logon trick continued for several days. Got busy, then noticed it was 4/12/2008. Went back to check, only to get an error message (exclamation in a triangle) error message at my e-mail. The same one I used for all previous transactions was no longer recognized!
Since I have received no answer from my original message to the on-line helper, I see no sense in trying that again.
Next time, I'll know enough to check any on-line business' reputation before investing the time it takes to do a tax return and follow up.
