Complaint Review: 20/20 EYEGLASS SUPERSTORE - Casselberry Florida

On Sep  2009 I went to 20-/20 EyeGlass Supeerstore at 965 E. Semoran Blvd Csselberry FL to purchase new eye glasses.  The eye Dr. checked my eyes and advised me I have Cataracts   He also said my eyes ere really  not bad at all, and he wrote out a new prescription.on.When I went to get the precription filled the person filling the prescription advksed  me Dr. Garcia  had written the prescription for  two Pairs of glasses -- one for distance and one for reading.because I have stage 2 cataracts -- but do not meed surgery at this time.  I have worn bifocals for many years with no problems at all,.  I lost my glasses a wek ago and I simply needed new glases since I had lost my old ones and could not drive without them., so needed glasses almost immediately.    I preferred bi-focals, but the Technicial indicated I had to go with the prescription Dr. Garcia had ordered.  On Sep. 5th I returned to pick up the new glasses.  When I put on the first pair I could ONLY see the VERY LARGE E at the top of the Chart

The Technician said perhaps the wrong lens  had been  in the reading glasses so had me try on the distance glasses.  Again, it was all a BLUR -- could ONLY read the LARGE !.  I was quite puset as I had just paid for TWO PAIR of Glasses and could NOT see to read or see distance with either par!  I asked to hve my  money refunded as the glasses were of NO USE to me!  the Manager told me these glkasses were written to the Prescription Dr. Garcia ordered and they could NOT refund my money!  I was very upset -- and agreed to see the Dr. and have him check the precriptions again.  When I went in to see the Dr. it as NOT Dr. Garcia, but a different Dr.  I did not get hisname -- BUT as told he is their "week-end eye Drr.  Hr as EXTREMELY NICE and said I did NOT NEED two different pairs of glasses!  He said that beause I do have cataracts he could opnly correct my vision to 20/40 -- but that I would be able to read, drive, and see  well.  He then prescribed Bi-Focals with a NEW Prescription.

I returned on Sep. 6th to get the glasses with the NEW bi-focal prescription and when I tried on both pairs I could see perfectly well!  I was upset that IF I had seen the second Doctor instead of Dr. Garcia I ONLY would have had to purchase ONE PAIR OF BIFOCAL Glasses!  As it was, I ended up paying for TWO pairs of glasses -- which I did NOT Need!

The technician said since they could NOT refund the money -- although the mistake was Dr. Garcia's NOt MINE they could make the second ;air into sun glasses. I already own clip own Sun Glasses and would NOT HAVE PURCHASED A SEPARATE PAIR OF GLASSES.

I feel 20'20 was at FAULT bcause the prscription Dr. Garcia wrote for me ws WRONG and I could NOT see with either paid!  The glasses were of NO USE to me!  I now have TWO pairs of Glasses -- when I I ONLY wanted to purchase ONE Pair!      I feel Dr. Garcia did NOT give me a very thorough exam and it as quite obvious with the second Doctor saw me he said I ONLY NEEDED ONE PAIR OF GLASSES AND the fct I have Cataracts did NOT mean I NEEDED Reading Glasses AND Vision Glasses!  When I could NOT see tout of either pair of glasses I felt 20/20 should ahve refunded my money as two pairs of glasses I could NOT see out of were of NO USE to me!  Ina ddition, 20/20 tried to sell me a third  pair of "precription Sun Glasses -- and altogether tht would ahve cost me about $450.  I could NOT affird that.

When I returend on Sep 6th toget the NEW glasses I had to pay an ADDITIONAL $30.

I will NEVER EVER recommend 20/20 EYEGLASS SUPERSTORE TO  ANYONE ELSE.  I FEEL the prescription Dr. Garcia wrote ws WRONG -- and I it cost me the price of TWO DIFFERENT pairs  glasses and I could NOT see out of either of them!  I feel I was RIPPED OFF
