John wheeler Rippes off 4 employees that i know of as of right now in over 1000s of dollers owed to us each. He makes fake promises and does not follow thru. He uses people for free work. He must be stopped. I was evicted from my place over this because i am a single mom with kids and was working for them. He needs karma to happen to him and he responable for all his horrible actions toward employees

A deeper search on these two will bring up legal issues, lawsuits (contactors, ex-employees, investors, to name a few), and bankruptcy. Owner John Wheeler is a known scam artist in and around Toronto and VP/pilates instructor Marta Sawala is making a name for herself as well.
Great advice for ex-employees to file complaints with the Ministry. Complaints to the BBB are helpful as well, as these facilities do their own damage control with reviews, either covering negative reviews with their own 5 stars or having negative reviews removed completely. Better to post your words where they will be heard as opposed to a google review system that they can control their image on.

I came across your posting and am sorry to hear that that has happened to you. There are A LOT of former employees, who are all waiting on their pay. Some have been waiting for months. I would suggest to file a claim with the Ministry of Labour. It's a simple process. There have already been a few claims filed against the company under the 360Active name. If enough former employees file a claim, given the amount that there are, hopefully a further investigation will be filed. I've been told there are other things that are being avoided such as payment of taxes and refunds to former members. It is definitely not a reputable business. If you search "John Wheeler Fitness One", you'll find a lot of negative reviews, as well. It's been going on for years. At the very least, file a claim with the Ministry and you will receive the monies owed to you. It's just a process that takes time. Hope this was helpful.
