A-1 PARALEGAL SERVICE AKA A-1 CALFIFORNIA, WILLIAM SWEET POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO CONSUMERS MERCED California
William Sweet has been running a paralegal service illegally for nearly 10 years. This man is exceptionally self-absorbed and greedy. He has been known to gouge Customers for as much as $1,000.00 for a simple divorce and is extremely incompetent in preparing documents. 9 times out of 10, they are riddled with spelling errors. Even worse, he makes outlandish coments in declarations that border on contempt and may actually cause the court to be angry with you and rule against you.
William Sweet has been sued twice for his practices, one resulted in a $264,000.00 judgment against him and his company for giving bad legal advice resulting in a person loosing his property in a Bankruptcy. He was also sued by the U.S. Department of Justice for violation of bankruptcy document preparers laws. That's suit called for damages up to $2 Million. It was settled with his promise never to provide legal advice again. Yet he's still in business comitting malpractice every date and the expense of consumers.
If you go to this company for Divorce papers, you risk a lot for this overpriced service. They charge as much as attorney's for the same work. Take twice as long and If you are really lucky, you'll only have some Whiteout on your documents. I've seen documents with as much as 50% of the text with Without on it.
This Fraud will tell you anything you want to hear to get your money. I've personally heard him tell people that he can "WIPE OUT all child support Arrears". This is, in fact, barred under Federal Law and he can't do any such thing. But hey, anything for a buck.
UNBONDED COMPANY
This company and it's staff have never been bonded so if you actually suffer damages, you'll have no one to sue.
HE NEVER PAYS HIS DEBTS EXCEPT BY FORCE, EVEN THE IRS.
The is constantly behind on debts no matter how well his business is doing.
he under pays his workers and relies on Welfare workers from CalWorks, who work for free, to do most of his work. DO YOU WANT UNSKILL LABOR DOING YOUR LEGAL DOCUMENTS?
He is currently past due on over $65,000.00 in back taxes on his reported income over the last 6 years. That's his REPORTED income, not including all the cash he pockets on a daily basis. His IRS debt is mostly attributed to payroll deductions taken from him employees that he refuses to pay.
He refuses to pay GARNISHMENTS for CHILD SUPPORT of his employees.
NEVER DUE BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY FOR ANYTHING.
He runs other businesses too.

Sweet Custom Designs - A catchall for hiding funds from the other companies.
William Sweet ripped off his own business partner by giving him a modified version of a Ebay purchase for software costing $25.00. The modified form stated $250.00 Ernie is his partner for Magically Simple.
AVOID A-1 AND WILLIAM SWEET FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
1. He is incompetent.
2. He is slow at providing services
3. He has been sued before for giving bad advice.
4. He will change the price of services based on how much he can get from you.
5. He will provide documents timely only for those that complain and even then, they're likely to be wrong.

I want to thank A.K for his paid opinion about A-1. But my-O-my,what time will tell A.K is Allan K. Now, just a few months later, a former employee of A-1 and a Major disgruntled Ex-Employee. Last I heard, he compiled a huge list evidence against A-1 and it's propietor William Sweet and sent it off to the authorities. It would be nice to see some of those allegations posted here and his new opinion about A-1 now that he's no longer on the payroll (see original report).
Just to clarify some facts, Ernie is a nice guy and I hate to see him ripped off, but I have the proof. When Allan's wife was having her paperwork done for gardianship, she was in the office nearly everyday pushing and pushing the paperwork to make sure it got done. Had she not done so, the outcome would not have been so good.
Now Allan, fess up and post the BITTER truth about Mr. Sweet.

In regards to the report sent about William Sweet and A-1 California Paralegal, let me state a few actual facts, and not erroneous damaging statements,(I and many others who have been helped my Mr. Sweet, are more than willing to appear in His defense), that have been written by a lying uneducated "ex-employee" who after mentioning blatantly false information, couldn't even get Mr Alonzo's name correct. The facts of the matter is this... Ever since I have known Mr. Sweet, I have seen him help people that otherwise could not afford paralegal services. I have heard on a continuing basis his repeated declaration of NOT giving legal advise. I can attest on my own behalf, that he helps others, because I wa one whom he helped. He helped my wife and I to get my children from an unsafe situation. That was 5 years ago, and my kids are doing wonderful. ***Note: As I am typing this, a customer came in, and asked about advise regarding his property. Mr Sweet's reply was, "I am sorry, but that is legal advise, but I can let you know, that you have the right to find an attorney to help. The person asked if Mr. Sweet knew of any attorneys, and Mr. Sweets reply was, "once again, I cannot give you legal advise, and I am sorry, but I can not refer you to any certain attorney."***
As far as cheating people? Nothing could be farther from the truth. Since I have been here, Mr. Sweet has worked with many people, especially with Divorces. His normal rate for a divorce, including all paperwork. changes or admendments are $150.00 for a simple divorce, to $450.00 for an extremely complicated divorce. Mr. Sweet does not, nor does he allow anyone in the company to file papers with the court. I strictly remember one client came in, We will call her Ms. D. Ms. D came in, and was in a hazardous and abusive marriage. Her divorce was complicated. He charged her $300 for the divorce, and because of the situation, and her financial problems, he agreed to $50 down, and $50 per month for five additional months. He did not make her wait for the papers, but instead, frew them up, completed them, and gave them to her. She filed them, and is still bringing the payment in. She has only 2 more payments left, and is thankful for his help.
I myself know Ernie, and in the desk in our office were several of the programs. For privacy issues I will decline mentioning the actual programs, but with my expertise in computers, $250 would have been a significant savings over the actual cost of the programs.
Also the information on the alleged 2 million dollar lawsuit by the DOJ, is not correct. I will not go further into this except to ask the following... If a crime or infraction of the law is serious as to bring a $2,000,000.00 law suit by the U.S. Department of Justice, would it seem a reasonable protection of the public's rights and interests to simply let it go on a promise to not give legal advise?
I simply ask that Ernie... oops. did I mention his name? Oh well... I simply ask that Ernie gets his facts together. My advise... If the Author of the original report can be dumb enough to place slanderous remarks against Mr. Sweet, and A-1 California Paralegal, he must understand he makes those remarks against the employees and representatives of A-1 California Paralegal as well. That includes myself as well. And unlike Mr. Sweet who is patient in this matter, myself, and his business partner are less patient, and are more than willing to take action if there is not a retraction of the original report.
As far as rippoffreport.com? You provide a very good service, but I will simply ask how you assertain the validity of the reports you place on your site? How about doing some checking before you allow libel to be posted on your site.

I worked for william sweet. He has delusions of graduer and thinks he should be a congressmen. He is a habitual liar, crazy, and is the most foul and offensive person I have ever met. All the posting said is true. He preys on the indigent and leaves a trail of helpless victims. One employee was a disgraced criminal disbarred attorney, Paul Yanez who abandoned his family. Sweet never paid any child support garnishments. He also does capping with another sleazeball hack attorney in town, Paul Alonzo. He has worked with other terrible lawyers as well, getting rent and kickbacks for clients.
