A. Auto repair AAA auto repair Unfair,desperate,dishonest a snake in disguise!! Houston, Texas
First of all I am not going to allow myself to bad mouth anyone out of anger and I know at the end of the day it will Always be "3 sides to a story" I will just tell my husbands experience and tell it as a cautionary tell to anyone looking into this business.
My husband owns a 83 cutlass had his car towed from Baytown to Houston about a godd 40 miles give r take a few . He wanted a motor and transmission rebuilt on it and he had a ton of new parts he bought to put on it. The condition of my husbands car was not perfect, nor was it a lemon the freeze plugs were messed up and some other things but my husband was able to start and drive his car to work. First the owner asked my husband for a $800 deposit I tried to convience my husband to not do this, but what do I know I am only a woman. Long story short He had the car taken in and somehow things did not work out with the motor and as a result my husband asked them to fix certain things on his car such as the freeze plug and carburetor just to get the car to run a little better til he found an engine. My husband and the owner negotiated the price down to only $400 which would let my husband get $400 back. We get to the shop and my husband tells me that it's going to be $475 to get his car out he was charged $800 for the engine take out and take in and he was charged $475 for things such as towing, and unnecessary belts and plus all the new parts my husband bought was not put onto his car. It would have been ok if we could have driven the car home. We didn't even make it off the street my husband started the car all I saw was black smoke and all I heard was sputters, it was something I have never seen nor heard and he has had this car for 3 years. Bottom line when dealing with this store do not be disceived by the " free tow" or cheap prices, a cheap mechanic is not always the best one. I beg any consumer to take one look outside this shop and see the "sitting ducks" of cars he has outside his shop and wonder could these be cars people have left behind because of payment disputes? If you do choose this shop please do not make the mistake my husband made get everything in writing signed by you and the owner and please believe all the reviews you see online about this shop, one or two bad reviews I can understand, but 5 or more you have to believe someone is telling the truth. I am not a liar or deciever I do not steal from others, I am a hard working woman and so is my husband most of my money went into that repair and a dream my poor husband didn't see come true, but I am not that angry

Like i said there are 3 sides to every story. Just a warning to CONSUMERS Read reports online carefully before you go anywhere it will keep you from losing money in the end and if you do go just get everything in official writing it saves a lot of trouble in the end and you will be better safe than sorry and for those of us who are considered the "sorry" ones our lesson is well learned

MR.Jared Douglas T**** contacted the shop for a quote on rebuilding 3.8 engine for 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
he was told it would cost $1500.00 , then asked if we can send the tow company to pick up the car and we did . once we got the car in the parking lot , he came by and confirmed that he had 3.8 engine and compered it to the one we were working on . repair order was filed out and signed and work was authorized and a deposit $800.00 was received .
once we got the car inside the bay , we realized it was 5.0 NOT 3.8 engine , so we contacted Jared and informed him that the price will no longer be $1500.00 as a 5.0 engine is more powerful and more expensive engine , we give him the option to cancel , rebuild or replace , he stated that he can get it rebuild for less than $1000.00 and asked us if we can have the engine pulled out for him to pick up and take it to his buddy and we did .
A few days later he called and said he could not get any one to do it and i explained it to him its impossible to have a complete rebuild for that price . so he ask if we can re install it back in his car with a few changes that he mentioned in his complain . and we did . the balance was due at pick up .
the total was for parts ,labor , tax , oil and towing charges from Baytown , TX to Houston .Now regarding the "car ain't running right " , Mr T**** did not want to change SPARKS PLUGS , WIRES EXC.... he is confused on what he asked us to do , all you wanted is to install the same engine back . NOW we don't know what your husband told you , but that what really happen . and regarding all the sitting ducks (cars ) we have in the parking lot , some are ready and some are waiting on getting payments on but thank you for noticing how busy we are . thanks :)
