Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Here's an email sent from a solid gold sound to me (as well as its other disgruntled contractors) concerning "good news" about how they are going to handle payroll issues:

"Effective immediately (Monday 11/10/08 at 8am ) we are going back to the email only system!

No more time wasted on phone calls! The only email address to ask about pay issues is [email protected] And if we don't reply to your email within 24 hours (which means by the end of the next business day Monday thru Friday), then you can call us on our new DJ Pay Hotline: 859-341-7272 .

If we are on that line, it will go to a voice mail where you can leave a message and we will call you back same day or first thing the next morning. No more unanswered emails. We apologize to all!!!!! But we fell off the email system because it got too difficult to figure out all the mystery emails. So for this to work, emails must be complete!

There can be no more emails that read Show went great, send my check. Who, What ,Where, When????? We had no way of knowing who it's from or what it's for. We got HUNDREDS of these and they slowed things down for the guys who did things right! Now mystery emails and all payroll emails sent to any email address other than [email protected] will be automatically deleted.

So to be responded to, each email's subject line must contain your full name as it appears on checks we send you and the date of the event! Example: Bill Smith 11/1. The body of the email must contain: Your full name as it appears on checks we send you, the date of the event to be paid for, the customer's name or job number, how the show went, and any address changes!!!!!

Thank You!!! And THANK YOU for all you do for the customer!"

Well that email was sent on 11/10, I responded on 11/11, and have yet to see any checks in the mail. I am owed for 5 jobs that I did for them dating back as far as August and, of course, I have already emailed and called them numerous times before receiving this email. When you call their "DJ Pay Hotline: 859-341-7272, you get this recorded message (I believe the voice is John Kruer):

"Thanks for calling the Payroll Line. Today is Thursday, November 13th. Here's what's going on:

We ARE keeping up with payroll emails again. THAT'S GREAT NEWS. But TODAY Ron is out ALL DAY. His wife's grandfather died. He's a pallbearer at the funeral. He's going to be gone ALL DAY.

Today is JD's SHORT day. So, emails only please. Emails only please.

But I'm happy to say we are keeping up with payroll emails. Responding in almost every case, now, by the end of the next business day. And that's because you guys are doing a much better job of not sending mystery emails like: 'Send my check. Show went great.' because you're putting the full name and the date of the event in the Subject line, and you full name, date of the event, and how the show went, and the address change in the email.

So we are keeping up. We will activate this line if we fall behind in any way 'cause we want to keep up with our promise that you can call this line if we don't respond by end of next business day, but right now we are. We appreciate it very much, we appreciate everything you do for us, and uh, we're working to get the back log and everything cleared up as fast as we possibly can.

Thank you very much and have a great day."

THIS isn't a hotline. There is no opportunity to leave a message. This is a recorded bridge to nowhere! Mr Kruer, I know you read this website. Answer you phone, your email, and pay me and the rest of the contractors the money you owe them. I've been making a few emails and phone calls, myself, to the proper authorities. Hopefully if enough others do the same, something can be done to recover these lost wages or at least have you thrown in prison where you belong. Have a great day, Mr. Kruer!!

I found this rather odd section of the USC that allows for interest to be charged to the contractor (Solid Gold Sound) under 39 USC 3901 (a)(4)(ii)(I) which states "(4) for the purposes of determining a payment due date and the date upon which any late payment interest penalty shall begin to accrue, the head of the agency is deemed to receive an invoice - (A) on the later of - (i) the date on which the place or person designated by the agency to first receive such invoice actually receives a proper invoice; or (ii) on the 7th day after the date on which, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, the property is actually delivered or performance of the services is actually completed, as the case may be, unless - (I) the agency has actually accepted such property or services before such 7th day; or" The acceptance of the property or service is defined as the actual performance of the event that we were all contracted for.

Why is Syncorp, A Solid Gold Sound's parent company listed as a religious organization?

On Cortera.com, Syncorp, owned by John Kruer, is listed a religious organization? Explain that for the audience Mr. Kruer. And what the hell is Kruer International Success Seminars. And why does that organization have the same phone numbers as some of your 'regional offices' for ASGS. You talk a good game on the phone, so why don't you type a few lines, since you read the postings on this board, Mr.Kruer. And why don't you pay me for the work I've done while you're at it.

I, too have been waiting to be paid for a wedding reception, for 2 months now. My patience is gone, I have emailed and called weekly, have been told the check is in the mail, even given the check number. I was given this information the same day this above mentioned blathering recorded message was issued, some 13 days ago and again on the 19th. I have an appt. with my attorney to discuss what can be done to put an end to the foul business practices of this company. Please write to me with any questions or comments, or if you would like to join me in a class action lawsuit, which is my ultimate goal, this invitation is not only to the vendors that has been "used" by this company, but to anyone that may have been wronged by A Solid Gold Sound, and has not been compensated or satisfied.
