I'm going to update this review, since within 24 hours of writing it I see the breeder decided to give herself 5 stars, have all of her friends do the same, and is further misleading people.  I believe Yelp has removed her review since it didn't follow their content guidelines.

To those friends that she rallied to have come post 5 star reviews, I'm happy for you if you felt you got a great cat; if you are indeed even customers at all.  This doesn't take away from the fact that she was not being professional with us.  Any time someone is asking 1200 for a pedigree, they should be willing to SHOW you a pedigree of their kitten or the kitten's parents.

Any breeder that A) asks 1200 for a pet quality maine coon without breeding rights and then B) refuses to show you the pedigree is full of it.  Anyone that tries to argue otherwise is either a liar or ignorant.  I've done enough research to understand what the typical price range is; unless the cat is special or meant to be bred, 1200 is just a rip off.  When I asked her why she was asking 1200, and if she could please show us the pedigree, she refused to show it to us or even offer an explanation of the high price tag.

We were dismissed and told to go somewhere else.  Not only is it rude, it tells me she was just trying to take advantage of someone who may not have known any better.  She can of course sell her cats for whatever price she likes, if people are dumb enough to pay it, great.  I had to listen to her rave about her cats for 20 minutes, as if they were far better than other breeders, but this isn't true.  If it was true, she woudn't have an issue producing evidence to prove that fact.

So, to those (like myself) looking for a quality registered kitten that you don't intend to show or breed, you can find one at any registered cattery; why pay 500.00 more for hers and have the added insult of having to deal with her?  She could have simply been polite and maybe this review (which appears to have gotten under her skin) wouldn't have been written.

Anyway, my original follows:

Dianna, the breeder, is extremely unprofessional and rude.  Her kittens are severely overpriced (male pet quality pedigree maine coons should range between 600-900, not 1200-1400).  She will waste your time bragging about how amazing their bloodlines are, then flat out refuse to show you a pedigree.  All she wants to do is ship her kittens off to people who don't know any better for huge profits.

This became obvious when she claimed she would happily put them in air freight at 7 weeks, something no ethical breeder would ever do as it's not healthy for your kitten.  My feeling is that her cattery is a big rip off.  Bottom line, you can get a quality kitten from lots of (more highly recommended) breeders.  Don't waste your time dealing with this nutcase.  Look on TICA for a list of other local breeders
