There is not enough detail to see if the AAA driver did anything wrong. So a couple of questions. Was the car dropped off after hours? Was the car dropped off at the correct location? Was the officer there when the tow truck driver left the car? If not then other than finding the car at x location in a certain condition what else could they "prove" that the tow truck driver did?

It is always interesting to me how employees and interested parties always come forth to protect their interest. Every correct recourse was followed by us immediately after the incident. We faxed the police report with the personal telephone number of the police officer and followed all AAA advice of the time period that we would need to wait for the investigation. After the investigation is when we spoke to AAA field representative whom we were told was the only person to speak to after he left a voicemail saying that they were done with the investigation and when I returned his voicemail and advised him of the entire situation that he didn't bother to research that if you read our report has been filed with the BBB and that he had not bothered to call the officer or had even looked at the police report. He the field representative is the one that said he would re investigate and did not. This report was filed because the day before 8 phone calls were made to find out what was being done about the so called re investigation and I was given the run around again. The supervisor was not in as he the same supervisor that was not interested in our situation before and still today has not bothered to look in to it call us or even ask his field rep why he has not updated his information. So you can protect this company all that you want but if you would spend half the energy that you spent protecting your interest with this company making lullabies and call your company and ask them why, you would make your company a better one, meanwhile when you treat customers like us that have been faithful ones for many years in this manner, the company deserves to get written up like this. As mentioned in the letter, we have done everything correctly and only after 4 months of advising them of their incorrect investigation and being told that we would be contacted and run around when we call is when they are written up. Good luck protecting your interests with AAA

I am a Driver for AAA and have been for some years now. This is not the way we operate. A vehicle is towed to the given location and droped off. The keys to the vehicle are either droped in the key drop; if none, they locked inside the car under the mat. Chances are someone seen it being droped off and watched the Operator leave the keys in it or they broke in after and found them & decided to go for a joy ride till it stoped runing and left it there. As is often the case! This is why you should ALWAYS go with your vehicle when your having it towed; if you have ther basic membership you are required by Club Policy to accompany the vehicle until it is off the truck; on occession we allow a plus member to go off and we take the vehicle to the destination and do a 'Dead Drop' but still the keys are placed in the key drop or locked inside the vehicle.

I have used AAA both in NV and in HI and I have some ideas for you. The first question I have for you though, is Why did you wait until March 2009 to follow up on an incident that happened in October 2008?? The first thing I know for sure is when I call they take my information and verify everything. Where I am and where car is being towed to. Then I get a call stating they are on there way. Most often the driver calls to let me know where he/she is. Then I get a follow-up call asking if vehicle was picked up. I have even been told to wait until the next day for the tow because the dealer's service department does not accept vehicles after a certain time. Then I get the call from the dealer and sometimes the driver to confirm. Did you ask for the information from your call? Did you write down the name of the person and the time as well as the date? You should always do this. Did you call AAA if you had problems with your driver? They should have been contacted right after he left to voice your concerns. Did you contact the dealer or servicer to let them know that the vehicle was on its way? I always do that-pays to communicate. Did you send the copy of the police report to AAA? Better yet-fax it to them as soon as possible! I have just never heard of anything like this. Did you ask AAA to pay your auto insurance deductible? I would have if I felt that this directly reflected on them? You need to get this taken care of as soon as an issue occurs! And you need to PUSH for things ASAP! FWIW, I just find it so hard to believe AAA would treat this issue so cavalierly.
