I received an email yesterday stating that there was going to be a lawsuit filed against me for failing to repay $900 from an initial $300 payday loan that I took out last year. I called the 213 number that was given to me in the email & no one answered on the 2 times I called back. About 2 hours later, I received a voicemail from the same number stating that he was in some kind of meeting and that's why he couldn't answer my call. I decided to take matters into my own hands and call the initial company I took the loan out from and handle it personally with them to my surprise, I got transferred twice to different collection agencies and none of them were AACS Legal Group. I resolved the issue right then and there & decided I would call the 213 number back the following morning. When I called, the same guy that left the message answered and I told him about why I was calling. I told him that I called my loan company directly and settled the issue with them. He became defensive and asked me how much I paid and I told him that I settled for the $300 loan I initially took out and asked him how his company came into play if the people I settled with was transferred through my original loan company and not through his company. He told me to hold then he hung up on me. I called him again and didn't get an answer. DO NOT get scammed by these people. If you have an issue with any company at all, go to the root of the problem and contact your initial source. I should have been weary from the start when I saw that the email address was a "Gmail" address.
