Will Somebody out there Please...help us? This is the most dishonest company I have ever seen, and they are getting away with it scott free everyday. This company has taken me (a person on disability SSI) for over $6,000.00 since May of 2007. I have absolutely nothing to show for a penny spent.
I tried two vehicles to compensate for the lemon vehicle of first purchase. AAF promised to repair noticed problems a day after I bought the first one, but I could never get action to resolve mechanical problems. First, the four-wheel drive gears began to make terrible noises. Next within less than a month the electrical system began to mal-function. I bought the first vehicle at the Rogers, Arkansas lot. Finally after five months I drove to the main office in Springdale, Arkansas to complain and request a resolution. The following is what happened.
The manager at the Springdale lot offered to take the first vehicle back and let me purchase another one with $1,000.00, stating that this was clearly a special favor because they just don't allow this with everyone. I borrowed the down payment amount from family and gave it another try. When looking at the vehicle I asked the salesperson if it had ever been wrecked. He declared it had not been envolved in a major accident. The vehicle was a 1998 Dodge Durango.
The price was unbelievable but due to financial problems beyond my control, I felt I had no choice but to give it a try. I'm not sure why I hadn't noticed the Dodge was somewhat road crazy until a couple days later, but I began to feel uneasy about the way it was handling. When I had it checked out, I was told by AAF's required automotive mechanics (Hispanic), the ball joints, and inner & outer tie rod ends were completely worn out. I had added a warranty contract to the Dodge and asked AAF to have it repaired as it was highly dangerous to drive. AAF refused to pay for the repairs, rather waived a payment in place of me personally paying for it. I spent over $500.00 to get it repaired, doing the work myself with a family member who is a mechanic.
At this point I had $1,000.00 cash down payment, $500.00 repair parts, $400.00 sales tax expense plus miscl. small repair expenses invested in the second vehicle. The drive train in the Dodge began to make noises when backing out of the driveway and progressively getting worse. Next, the heater quit working correctly, losing antifreeze and unable to get hot air from the heater blower. Meanwhile I was notified Jorja Trading, Inc. of Springdale had taken over my finance contract.
I was convinced I had bought another lemon vehicle, did some research, paid for a car fax and discovered the car came from Florida and had been extensively damaged in an accident.
When we bought the vehicle it needed a spare tire, and jack assembly. It took 4 trips to get the tire, but never did get a jack for it. Finally, I had had enough. I had to wait a week just to get an appointment to talk the business manager and wasn't going to wait another week just to get permission to talk to someone in charge. I took the vehicle back to the dealer, even though there wasn't another payment due for a few days and told them I have had enough. Yesterday I recieved repossession notice from Jorja Trading, Inc. stating they were selling it and going to charge back the balance to me. Due to my limited income an attorney said I wouldn't be able to afford the cost to challenge this issue and hopefully Jorja Trading Inc. wouldn't be allowed to garnish my disability income. However, they indicated they would report this on my credit record and intend to file a lawsuit.
Surely, there is someone willing to assist us poor folks in stopping this ripoff business. I would do anything to be a part of ending their circle of dishonesty. Please......we (I) need help!!!!
