I put my car in an AAMCO Shop in Lemon, CA October 2005. This is now March 2006. I was originally told 2 weeks. Each time I speak to someone I am told another date the car will be done. For any vehicle to be in a shop for six months is ridiculous to say the least. I am a single mother with two children and my vehicle is literally my lifeline.

Due to the length of time the car has been in the shop I was forced to purchase a used vehicle until mine was fixed. That vehicle has now taken a dive. So now again I am without transportation. I have missed numerous days from work, suffered much stress and financial hardships over this whole matter.

I spoke to someone Monday 3/27/06, and was told the car would be ready Wednesday 3/29/2006 I called 3/28/2006 to verify that my vehicle would indeed be ready and once again I was told either Thursday or Friday. I was told the job was going to cost me $4900.00 for rebuilding the transmission. When asked if they could cut me a deal due to the circumstances of the matter I was told NO. How much longer do I need to wait???

I have been more than patient but I am at my wits end now.

Very dissatisfied customer!!!

WHAT? $4900 to REBUILD a Transmission?

I am sure there is much more to this story than you are telling. First off, nobody in their right mind would let a shop keep their 'lifeline' for 6 MONTHS. Second, NOBODY charges $4900.00 to REBUILD a transmission. You can buy 3 transmissions for that price! What's the whole story here? What kind of car, did you tell AAMCO you will make payments? What? This report has a very untrue ring to it!

What kind of car is it?

Year, make, and model please. If it's a 1936 Auburn, I can see it taking a bit longer than 2 weeks. If it's a 1998 Cavalier, I cannot see it taking more than 2 days. What did AAMCO say was actually wrong with the tranmission? Just out of curiosity, do you have the money to pay for the repair? I get people all the time who insist I get started on their "emergency" immediately. They even call 5 times a day "checking on the status" of the repair. As soon as the car is ready to be picked up, always at the exact time I originally say it will be, the customer has no money. Then, I get to babysit the "emergency" until they can find the cash. Needless to say, I ignore "emergencies" now. The other side of the coin is the customer who says "take your time", then calls 5 times a day.... I ignore them too.
