Took my 97 camary to aamco transmission, was told transmission needed to be rebuilt. Paid 2100.00 for this service. When the car iws returned to me and I driove it for about 200 hundred miles check engine light came on. Took it back to aamco and the code the computer system gave that it was something wrong with the transmission. Every time I have taken it back to them they have not did anything to correct the problem. i have taken it back to them a total of 8 times.

I have personally talked to Mr. and Mrs. B---- and without a doubt, I do understand their frustration. Let me say that (and the B----- can also testify to this) is that there was never any complaint about how the car drove...shifting etc...but the check engine light kept coming back on. Our troubleshooting tree continued to lead us down the path of an electrical glitch which caused us to spend so much time tracking down numerous wires inside of harnesses. I finally instructed my service manager to remove the original transmission and associated electrical harness that was built. Instead of trying to go through it again, we have replaced it with another unit from Toyota. I have also restarted their warranty as of the date that they picked up the vehicle with the new transmission and spoke to the B------s again about this unfortunate situation. Once again, I do apologize to them for the inconvenience and hope to do business with them again.
