AAmco Transmissions AAmco Lowballs the price to get you in the door...Then WHAM they rip you off! Shoreline Washington
These guys take the cake,,,and your wallet too! They said my trans probably would not have to be rebuilt and offered a "FREE" tow into the shop. Monday morning came and I gave them a call, they said the trans would need to be rebuilt. At this time they quoted me a price of $1700. I gave them the approval as this price was in line with all the other estamates I had recieved. A couple of days later they called and raised the bid a couple of hundred. I was not happy but gave them the go ahead. The next time I talked to them they had the trans apart at another location and now are telling me the cost is going to be close to $2800+tx. I told them this could not be, I could have purchased a reman trans for $1400 ANYWHERE in town, and put it in myself. I asked to pick up the car because this price was way out of line. They told me I would owe them $1000 for their labor and $100 for the "Free" Tow. They offered to give me discount because I was so unhappy, a "coupon" for $200 off the $2800 price. What a bunch of "NICE" people. It Looks like I am going to pay the price and call it a lesson. From the sounds of things ALL AAMCO'S conduct busness this way. STAY AWAY FROM AAMCO they want to rip you off. At least the one in SHORELINE WA will.

Turns out I was somewhat unfair and perhaps a bit harsh when I passed judgement on the folks at the Shoreline AAmco. It turns out there was more damage to my son's transmision than I thought and while the price of the repair was high, it was just. When I picked the car up, Rock the gereral manager, met with me and explained things to my satisfaction. Not only was he a good guy but he went way out of his way to make sure I was happy when I left. P.S. the car runs great!
