Yes, the new owner did offer to fix what the mechanic told him was wrong - at a discounted price. No, it would not have fixed the problem. His diagnosis wasn't even close. We know that for a fact since we paid a local transmission shop to really fix the van. We have the parts and testimony to show that we were completely ripped off by AAMCO Transmissions. I realize that the local store has a new owner trying to build his business but that doesn't release AAMCO Corp. from standing behind its name. They should refund my money in full because I did not get what I paid for.

Yes, the new owner did offer to fix what the mechanic told him was wrong with our van. I thought the offer was kind of him. Unfortunately, it would have been bad money after bad money for us. We ended up taking the van to a local transmission shop that fixed it once and for all. It cost us an additional $2500 but the van drives wonderfully now - I am not at all afraid to drive it out of town. We have the physical proof - as well as the testimony of a certified mechanic - that we were ripped off by Aamco Transmissions.

The Aamco Transmission Center was recently reopened by a new company. The former owner that caused the alleged problem is no longer with Aamco. We have an entirely new staff and management. The new ownership group has diagnosed the problem with the vehicle. We have contacted this customer and explained that there is a minor electrical problem. We have offered to fix the problem at our COST (under $300) for the customer with no charge for labor. The repair has been out of warranty for a while and we would like to show our good faith and rectify this problem.
