September of 2008 I finally decide to attempt to have my transmision looked at. For the past couole of months my trans would not go into reverse, then could not shift into second. It woud go from first to third. At the same time or pretty much if you ever listen to the radio all the popular radio stations advertise free diagnosis of any transmission problems. I was told I would need to leave my truck at there location for the entire day for them to run a diagnostic on my vehicle. Im no slouch around around an engine bay. Ive worked on my own VEHICLES, not to mention several of my friends cars. As i curently reside in an apartment complex vehicle repair is not allowed.

My job is a ways away from where i live, so i was a bit aprehensive about using AAMCO. It does no take all day to run a diagnostic on a car, 30 minuites tops. I am aware of this particular shop trick, being I've grown up in a garage. Later in the day i was contacted by the shop manager DON. He notified me that my FREEEEE dinostic test said that there was an internal prblem with the trans(NO s**t) and that they would need to remove and dismatle the part to find the issue. It would cost me $600 just for the labor. Im a dishwasher i barley break 400 on my biweekly paycheck.

I told them i do not have that kind of money and would retreive my vehicle the following morning. I went in got my keys, pushed my truck out of the bay and left. I proceded west on mason turned north on US1 got up to about 20mph, when my hood flew up and shattered my windsheild and totaled my hood. They forgot to latch my hood. I imediatly called the shop and told them what happened. The manager told me that the area manager MIKE would have to contact me. He did the following day and told me that because a collared bolt in the hinge on the hood caused the miss-hap. The bolt had been missing for months prior and nothing like this had ever even came close to happening. I explaind this to him and asked how his companie would plan to fix this.

He told me that I would be reinburst $100 for a salvaged hood from a junk yard that i would have to remove and install myself. When I told him that this is not only unacceptable but careless, neglagent, and unprofesional and that I would be contacting a lawyer. He responded with "You get your lawyers, I have mine. We will see who has the better mouthpeice". No attorney will speak to me about how i was treated or even consider hearing what happened. This place is a joke, steer clear. I doubt seriously that any of the techs that work there are ASE certified.
