Ecko House and Aardvark are the same folks with the same sort of replies and contact systems in addition to quality controls that plague Aardvark Global Publishing. They are slow, make errors often, don't provide sufficient phone contact, always promise more than they deliver, use unknowledgable persons without much experience. They do not provide sufficient answers such as providing experienced info for promoting books. Beware of the promises they make. It takes a long while for them to do anything. They only list books and do not really promote them other than on their own website, which you pay for. No quality control at all and extremely poor customer service especially after you contract with them to do something. You must pay up front. The book coating was peeling off when I opened the box. The box was too small for books and got torn up by USPS delivery. They took no responsibility for sending the wrong coating that was poorly applied. The books looked used instead of new. Most communication is by email and they never address all the questions or points you ask about. Ecko House is the new name of Aardvark probably because they have such a bad rep as Aardvark. It takes so much effort to get something done correctly by them that it is not worth getting started. Good luck if you try. They exploit the naive inexperienced folks who want to self-publish a book. If you ask for statistics about the successes for their authors like sales figures or examples of success stories their so-called promotions create, they just don't write back or answer. That is because Ecko House is not a promotion service but a listing service. They add your book info to places you can do yourself for free or much less. They don't do more than that to help sell books on these places where they list titles. The promo to sell their services is much better than the results you get. After they have your money, everything goes down hill.

It is true that Aardvark Global Publishing has become ECKO House Publishing but not because of unhappy customers but because of happy customers. We have been in the business of self publishing since 2003 and have helped thousands and thousands of authors worldwide.  The one thing that Aardvark did not provide was distribution because, at that time, it was not possible to get distribution for self publishers, and without distribution authors had little or no chance of having their books available for the major book retailers such as Barnes & Noble.  We worked diligently in order to set up distribution options for our authors and once we had succeeded, Aardvark become ECKO House Publishing - a Full Service Publishing Company, giving self published authors a voice in the world. As one of the owners and an author of 8 books myself, I am pleased and excited to have created a publishing company that works for it authors.

Having said all that, from time to time, like in any business, problems do occur. I am saddened that the author of this complaint remained anonymous because it is always our intention to "make it right."  After reading the complaint, we had a company meeting and tried to determine who the author might be and we could not think of anyone; we know all our authors by name and each author is provided a publishing coordinator in which to work.

Since we know that the personal connection is the most important aspect of any business, we honor that relationship and from time to time we may actually choose not to work with an author where the "fit" might not be a good one. We put people before profits and Harmony above all else.

All our publishing coordinators are highly trained in the area of publishing and work one on one with the authors assigned to them. Emails are answered the same business day or the following day if received on the weekend or holiday. We are also available by phone by calling 800-614-3578 or 801-505-0516.  You can even call and ask for me personally!

ECKO House Publishing is set up in such way that authors can select the services that they need, and do not need to purchase services that they don't need. Since the author of the complaint is anonymous I cannot know what he or she purchased but it sounds like promotion services such as being Interviewed on ECKO Author's Radio, working with a Publicist, News Releases, etc. were not purchased.  We do offer free services with any of our packages that include such things as listing and selling your book on www.ECKOBooks.com, a book launching webpage and a Free Facebook Fanpage for your book.

If the creator of the complaint is reading this, please call me. I would like to resolve any problems. For all others reading this, please call me as well and find out what we are about.
