I paid off Aaron Rents in full over a 18 months ago through their Renewal Retention Department.

Creditkeepers of which I am a member, sent me an e-mail stating that negative information had been placed on my credit report. When I got copies of my credit reports, each company had something different, all of them false.

One report stated that it was a bad debt and placed for collection and skip trace and that the account was still open over $4.00. Another reported payment after charge off (it was paid in full ages ago, so what was charged off, and never appeared on credit report until this week).

Creditkeepers said it lowered my score because this delinquency was owing within the last 30 days. This was paid off over a year ago, closer to two years ago.

I never knew about this $4.00, never received a letter stating I owed $4.00 but it lowered my credit score by 50 points and took it from the fair to poor category.

I called and spoke to Mr. Brookings, who said that it showed that it was paid off and that I should dispute it. I am in the process of that right now. Then said that they would correct it. I have also written a letter to a Mr. McDowell of Renewal and Retention Dept. and sent him that $4.00 that I knew nothing about.

I am reporting this because of the time and annoyance it is going to take to try to get this incorrect information taken off of my credit report and how a company can just put anything on your report especially when I took great pains to pay this off.

Paid on time

In answer to the employee, this was paid on time. They told me it was paid off, in April 2006 there was $4.00 owing and they reported the $4.00 as a charge-off and skip trace two years later. This is in violation of FCRA because it is inaccurate. It has, as of 5/2/2008 been deleted from my transunion credit report. I sent in a check for the $4.00, that they cashed.

The information was deleted off of my credit report by transunion. Let's hope the other two follow suit.

According to my records, I paid Aaron's off on 4-14-2006. They wait 2 years before putting incorrect and negative information on my credit report.
