Last year, my washer broke and we did not have the money to go out and buy a new one, so we decided to try a rent to own company. We decided to go with Aarons.

Things were good for a while, no problems, until my washer started making a funny noise. Then things went south.

I called them everyday for 6 months trying to get someone out here, meanwhile, making most of my payments on time. I admit, there were some months where it was late due to paycheck scheduling.

I finally told them that I refuse to make any more payments until someone came out and looked at it. You would think that would motivate them. HA!

At this point, the phone calls started 5, 6, 7 times a day. About a month later someone finally showed up and looked at the washer, and I mean just looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with it. I guess the guy was deaf and could not hear the loud screech it was making.

So, we paid it off and had our own person come look at it. All it needed was lubed.

Another incident was someone I know had put me down as a referance ( which Aarons never called to check anyway ) without my knowledge. She was late on her payments every month. I got all sorts of phone calls, these people do not let up, if you are a day late, the calls start. I told them repeatedly that I was unaware that I had been used for a referance and that this person did not live in my home and to stop calling me.

Yea right! for 4 months they called. Everyday. I finally just ended up cussing them out and told them to stop harasssing me or I would be forced to file harssment charges. Beleive it or not, this actually worked! So, buyer beware.

I am so sorry about your horrible experiance with Aarons. As a Sales Manager I understnad that it can be difficult to get product techs to homes for maintenece. I also know that every single service call I have had since I have worked with the company has been checked out within 3 days. This is the longest anyone has had to wait and the reasoning was timing. The customer lived out of town a ways and we leave a 2 hour window open. This means that if we say between 2 and 4, the techs may get there at 2 pm or at 4 pm. That depends on their schedule. Anyway, the three day wait came becuase the customer was not available during the 2 hour periods we came to the home. She even called us two of the days to let us know something came up and would have to reschedule. The next time you have a service issue that is not taken care of, please call the regional office, the number is posted in the store, and let them know. If still no responce, I would contact the next closest store and see if they can help you out. Sales Manager, Fort Smith AR
