I did a Google search for "florist" and a local city and was directed to what looked like a bonafide florist site "Abbotts Florist" (www.abbottsflorist.com). Because there actually is an Abbott's Florist in my town (www.abbotts.com), I proceeded to make an order for funeral flowers that were never delivered. Rip Off Reports shows at least one other person encountered the same ripoff.

Abbott Florist Issues

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

I am an employee of Abbott Florist in Turnersville, NJ  www.AbbottFlorist.com. We are also a victim of the Abbott's Florist scam. Here is a brief run-down about this company that poses as legitimate companies to steal your business and provide you with no customer service whatsoever.

Abbott's Florist at www.AbbottsFlorist.com is an order gathering company. You call, they take the order and send it to a local florist for your order to be fulfilled. They run Ad Word Campaigns to pose as a local company with words such as Local, Family Owned and Operated etc. Usually they show up at the top, naturally people click there. We are finding that customers eventually get to us, but only after an order has not been filled and we are left to explain why an arrangement never arrived or it wasn't what they ordered. Even worse, when customers call their phone 1-800-613-3294 which is their current number up, and ask for employees or a Manager, they will say that they are unavailable or stepped out. If you have any problems of course they will not service you, they are not a legitimate company.

Some tips to help you find your local florist. When you type in Florist and a town Google will return a map and a list of phone numbers and their location. Look there first! Use a local phone number if possible. Always look on the website for a physical address. Legitimate brick and mortar florists want you to find them and will have their address on their site. If you call and something sounds off, ask for a Manager and confirm a physical address. Will they allow you to pick up your order? Sounds like a lot of work, but it seems today's you need to always been on the look-out. Protect yourself and your personal information by doing a little investigative work.

We have had many compliants and ripped off customers by this company. If you are interested in further info regarding their unlawful business practices see this site http://www.floristdetective.com/wst_page16.aspx

We at Abbott Florist in Turnersville, NJ (Sewell and Washington Twp area) extend our deepest apologies to people ripped off by this company, not because we are a part of their actions but because it reflects poorly on the whole floral industry. We (and every legitimate brick and mortar florist) greatly appreciate your business and hope that we can help ward off these order gathering websites so that you can receive the highest quality service possible.
