ABLAZE FIREWOOD ABLAZE FIREWOOD-DELIVERED GREEN WOOD AT SEASONED COST-KEEPS PASSING BUCK AND MAKING EXCUSES TAWA-WELLINGTON-NZ NEW ZEALAND
My Complete Report On Events:
*Monday 16th July 07-I phoned around the greater Wellington Area for price and quality of firewood/delivered/seasoned. Spoke with "Jenny" at ABLAZE.Gave her my credit details. Paid for the agreed cord of MAC and GUM. $375 delivered. Requested an estimated time of delivery. answer:"not sure".
*Tuesday 17th July 07-waited all morning-phoned "Jenny" again-informed that it was "on it's way. It is rain wet. Do you have dry stuff to keep it going?". My answer:"Yes, a little. It's OK I know what "rain wet" is. not a problem"-Delivered at 1:00pm: Dropped on the drive ready to be stacked under front steps. My boys did this and mentioned that it was "VERY" heavy. Tried to burn it that night and surprised that it was so green!Still with BARK on it!Not Impressed Guyz!Especially since I have 3 kids and it's winter:(
*Wednesday 18th July 07-Phoned to express my disappointment. spoke with "Paula". Explained the SAD situation. She apologized and explained she doesn't have an answer. Will get "Tyrone" to call me. see what they can do about it". I phoned CONSUMER AFFAIRS-Spoke with HANNAH-to get info on my rights-She was very helpful-Fair Trading Act cited. "Tyrone" calls later. Apologizes and offers to drop off kiln dried blocks tomorrow.
*Thursday 19th July 07-No show. No call. I phoned them aprox 4pm. Jenny-"oh, we were just talking about you! He's already been out. Can't find your place. We'll drop something off to you next time we're out that way. Have you had your chimney cleaned? It's been really wet weather. You need a North-Easterly wind to dry out what you have. We only get Southerlies this time of year.. and on and on..."! Give me your cell phone number I'll get "Tyrone" to phone you."
*Friday 20th July 07-No Show.No Call Again. Nothing but stuck with this GREEN, unseasoned firewood, that lets out nothing but smoke<<
*Saturday/Sunday-Nothing.
*Consumer Guarantees Act.
Guarantees That The Goods Must Meet Acceptable quality Fit for Particular purpose. If they think they can get away with it with me.. I'm sure there are others out there that they've done this to.

In response to the complaint made about the Ablaze providing a poor service to their customers, I would like to talk of my dealings with Ablaze. I have recently had a fireplace installed through Ablaze, and I honestly couldn't have been happier with the service we got. The owner of the company himself came to our home to give an obligation free quote on which burner would be most suitable and to also check whether a burner could actually be installed safely. I had contacted all other similar companies in the Wellington district for quotes on price and also the availabilty and cost of installation. Their prices were very competitive and they were able to install the fireplace within a week. The installation ran very smoothly and the workmanship was great with the installer even sealing off the 'old' chimney for no extra cost. To summarise, we couldn't have been happier with the service we got, and it has genuinely changed our lives.
