After seeing a cheap Florida vacation package in the local newspaper, my wife called to purchase it. She called and listened to a voice message that gave her another phone number to call. She called and was given informaton that a family was unable to go on the trip because of a divorce. They told my wife they have paid for 900 of the trip and we would only need to pay 250. The trip included 4nights in Orlando, 2nights in Daytona, and 5 nights in Cancun. After paying with a electronic check we received our reservation papers in the mail about a week later. The packet included a reservation sheet for each destination which looks like the company just copied them on a cheap copy machine. The small print has details about the extra fees to book your reservation and fees if you book near a major holiday. We planned on booking near Mother's Day so we tried to call to see if it is considered a major holiday. We called the number for Absolute Vac. Center that is listed on the reservation sheets. The number was disconnected. We tried calling Mini Getaways to ask about getting another contact number. We left a message for Mini's because they do not work on weekends. It has been four days and still no answer. We are required to book at least 45 days in advance or will be required to pay and extra 75.00. We are concerned that we will not be able to book before the 45 day cutoff. Also the reservation sheet states they cannot guarantee the dates you request which makes it difficult to plan a vacation around work.
