AccessoriesLand.com - Starlight Camera Ripoff Fraudulent sellers Beware!! Brooklyn New York
I was looking for a Canon Digital camera and found it for an extremely good price on accessoriesland.com. I registered for the site (which includes giving your cc info) to find out what the shipping cost was, and then I noticed the listing in spoke of a $100 rebate.
Curious about the rebate before I ordered (no order at this point, only registration)- I called their 800# to inquire. They said there was no rebate, so I said thanks, and said I would just order online- they said that it is quicker to order by phone, so I started to go into the ordering, but they didn't take Discover- the card I wanted to use, so I did not order anything, and went to look for another site to buy from.
No big deal at this point- but here's where it gets interesting! Later on that evening, they called up and wanted to confirm my order (an order that I had never placed!) and they gave me my Discover card info from the earlier registration- and then asked me for a visa or mastercard instead.
They then proceeded to try to sell me a $200 camera battery which I said no to. Then they tried to sell me memory cards at a huge markup too, which I said no to. At this point, he got very rude and said "Fine then, go buy the camera somewhere else too!"
What a scam! I now have to watch my credit report to make sure they don't try anything! It's terrible- watch out for these guys!!!!
