Contracted Platinum Van Lines, Inc. to move my furniture and belonging from Michigan to Arizona. I was quoted a price and give an expected delivery date (approximately 10 days). They were given a deposit of half of the value of the contract. When my furniture and belongings finally arrived in Arizona (one-month later) the balance owed was almost double. I was made aware that nothing would be removed from the truck until I paid, in cash, the balance owed.

I contracted the Platinum Van Lines office to try to bring some resolution to the situation and to get my furniture and belongings. I was then made aware that everything the driver was asking for was in the contract. While that is true, the extra costs was not included in the price quoted or the costs agreed to. Platinum Van Lines was very meticulous in making sure they recorded everything being moved but not in what they would do when my belongings arrived.

I was finally advised by Platinum that unless I paid what the driver asked for my furniture and belongings would be placed in storage. I would be responsible for the cost of the storage and for getting my furniture and belongings from the storage unit. It should be noted that when I contracted Platinum I was told I would have up 30-days free storage if my funiture and belongings arrived and they were undeliverable.

I sent Platinum an email asking for the exact balance owed and the location of the storage unit. After 2 email attempts they finally responded stating that once the balance was paid, in cash, and verified they would overnight the location and key for the storage. I was given their bank account number and the bank I had to deposit the money into; which I did.

I notified Platinum that the balance had been paid and they send me an email detailing the location of the storage unit and where they had left the key. When I arrived at the storage unit there was no key. I was also advised by an employee of the storage unit that they had given 2-keys to the person who rented the unit but the unit was in one persons name (they would not give me the name) and there were no other authorized users of the unit. In other words, no key, no access, furniture and belongings still held hostage.

I tried to contact Platinum but have had no response. Even when I am finally able to obtain my belongings it will cost me hundreds of dollars more (cost of having the ownership transferred to me, new lock, having old lock cut off, new movers, etc.).

Everyone I have dealt with at Platinum had been very courteous until they recieved my deposit then everything changed. It has been lie after lie and deception after deception. In the meantime I don't have my clothes, belongings, and furniture I paid to have delivered.
