Active Periodicals My nightmare is just begining, what can I do? Deerfield Beach Florida
Unlike many of the stories I've read here, my experience with Active Periodicals began well enough. I agreed to a 60 issue subscription to 3 different mags in Fall of 2004. I was to pay 59.80 per month. To be deducted from my debit card.
The debit card I was using shortly thereafter expired and when they called me to get the new number I simply asked that they send me monthly statements instead and I would send them a check or money order. They agreed and all went well, I paid the balance of my account off and stopped recieving the statements. That was Fall of 2005. This whole time I have been recieving my magazines like promised.
Now in the last month, I have started getting phone calls from "Active Periodicals" saying that I am supposed to be paying for another year. I have gotten 4 just this week. All the operators are very rude and agressive. When I don't allow them to have my card numbers they simply say "why don't we speak to you another time".
I have called the customer service number for the Deerfield Beach A.P. and they say that I am paid in full and not to give those people my cc numbers. I had them put me on their DNC list long ago. Not to mention that these people are calling me on a cell phone.
I am afraid these people might try to send me to collections (that is their threat). What can I do? Who can I call? How do I document all this properly? Help please!
