The so-called Adapt-A-Life Rip-off filed by Janet from Westminster, South Carolina, is inaccurate, self-serving and cleverly designed to misrepresent the facts. Janet and her husband have sponsored only 18 distributors of which only 4 are active. They have several distributors in their down line who have achieved much higher levels of qualifications. Adapt-A-Life has a policy requiring all distributors to keep its products from being associated with Ephedra products. The courts have ruled that Ephedra cannot be sold and those companies and distributors who have ignored those court rulings have been dealt with severely. Janet and her husband ignored the company policy by co-mingling Adapt-A-Life products with Ephedra. For the protection of Adapt-A-Life we could not allow that to happen. In addition they were attempting to cross sponsor other distributors in direct violation of their distributor agreement. Adapt-A-Life's attorney requested Janet and her husband to sign a cease and desist letter in which they agreed to immediately stop selling Ephedra products along side Adapt-A-Life products and to also immediately stop attempting to cross sponsor distributors. When Janet and her husband signed the Cease and Desist letter, Adapt-A-Life forwarded all commission checks which had been on hold, going beyond what the company was legally required to do, per advice of counsel.
