Adaptive Marketing, Connections Stole Victoria's Secret Credit Card Number, Charged VS Escapes Membership, Hung up when confronted!! Omaha Nebraska
When reconciling my Victoria's Secret credit card (World Financial Bank), I saw a $109.95 "Third Party" charge that was listed simply as "VS Escapes". I immediately called my credit card customer service department and they gave me the number to "Adapative Marketing". I called this place and it was computerized customer service for "CONNECTIONS". They asked me to enter either my member ID, the credit card number with which I signed up on, or my home number. I never signed up for anything so all I could enter was my number, but that didn't work so I actually got a representative. I gave them my name and they had my address and all of my info!!
I inquired as to what this was and they said I was online making a purchase on victoriassecret.com (which, I wasn't, as I haven't made an online purchase in months) and I clicked on this 30-Day trial membership. I asked what it was and she couldn't tell me. She said I was on the site on March 3rd and the charge went through on March 7th. This is obviously fraudulent and I asked to speak with a supervisor and she immediately gave me her name "Charlene" and her ID # and HUNG UP ON ME! I then called my credit card company back and went through the whole schpeel again and they called the company and a man told my credit card representative that the membership was cancelled and it would be credited.
I don't buy it, but I've been a loyal customer of Victoria's Secret for many years so I have someone monitoring my account. I fully intend to push through on this and make sure this doesn't happen again and that I actually get my money back!!
