Let's clarify a few things here:
1.) When a company buys out another company they honor the original contracts, so, basically, when you went from broadview/brinks to ADT they kept your original terms and conditions, to include the monitoring price... You weren't "overpaying" - it would be overpaying if you signed up for $46 bucks a month and then you were charged $56 bucks, THAT is overpaying...
2.) When you called ADT they willingly lowered your price, and said all YOU had to do was call them... why are you complaining?!
3.) $34.99 is not ADT's basic monitoring package...
- Option A: $27.99 a month: Police only, no warranty
- Option B: $33.99 a month: Police, manual fire (meaning you press the panic button), manual medical
- Option C: $35.99 a month: Police, monitored fire system, medical, full warranty
Overall, I guess my point is that I don't understand why you're complaining... ADT didin't rip you off, nobody ripped you off, you signed a contract for $46.99 which is why you were paying $46.99... I don't see the problem.
P.S. Brinks equipment isn't superior to anyone in the industry, that stuff was crap.
