Complaint Review: Advanced Metal Roofing - Wilmington North Carolina

 In April of 2008, we contracted Advance Metal Roofing of Wilmington, NC to instal metal roofing to our home in Angier, NC.  The company stated and gve us a "Limited Lifetime Roof Warranty, for as long as you live in your home, plus it is Transferable".   

   From day 1 of the installation the workmanship was shoddy at best with sharp edges, uneven, unsitely bends and cuts throughout the installation and uneven and random screws all over the entire roof.  The crew of hispanic workers did not speak English and we could not comunicate our displeasure with what we were seeing and called the main office with the complaint along with sending photos of the work being done.  The representitive came out and offered very little and had his guys attempt to remake some of the more intollorable corner bends and cuts.  Nothing was done or attempted at the rest of the problems and was treated as if it was the norm.

   Within 5 months of the installation, we began noticing the foam strips that were packed into the edges around the house where the open ends of the metal were, began to fall out in many places.  I tried contacting the company many times with no answers to the calls or return calls from voice mails.  I continued leaving messages over the past 5 years, with not a single call back or means by which to contact these people.   Over the past 5 years, the wood trip around the house at the edges of the roof are rotting due to the compleat lack of overhang.  We are not builders and did not know about importance of having the roof (overhang), that said, there is absolutely no overhang, no one will instal gutters and the trim is rotting away due to the work by Advanced Metal Roofing.  To top off all of these real problems..the big deal with these rip off bastards was the promise of a massive energy savings by using this metal roof.  To be honest, we have not noticed ANY change in energy consuption, so even that was a lie.  That pretty much rounds out the fact that EVERYTHING they told us, was a LIE.  The word, credibility, honor, integrety of these people are ZERO.   

   We paid $18,470.00 for this horrible job, no way of recouping our so called investment, and are looking at having to replace the trim, possibly the entire roof and aparently no way to seek reembersment sense the company seems to have fled the area.

   I understand that Advanced Metal Roofing, has opened an office in the Massachusets after running like the cowards they are from Wilmington, so people in the New England area, be aware of these rip offs.  

  Just found out that Advanced Metal Roofing also has an office in Raleigh, NC, Advanced Metal Roofing of Raleigh,  Old US 70, Clayton, NC.  They also utilize a crew of installation people called MetalManRoofing Systems,   Watch out for all of these people.
