I was a trial user of Aeria Games playing their product Project Torque. After playing for a week I received an email saying that my account was banned permanently and they confirmed their suspicion that I was hacking. I'm sure everyone says they are innocent but I for sure was not hacking. There was an option for me to open a ticket on the issue which I did. I explained to them that I was not hacking and offered a thought of how the issue came about. While playing the game I was beating another person. I saw them stop in game and pause for awhile. I suspect they were taking a screenshot and reporting my name because they were angry that they were losing. The next day I was banned. Since I was not a paying customer yet, it is my opinion that if I was reported as hacking by a paying customer that even without proof they would ban me. This could keep the paying customer happy and Aeria Games could continue to receive revenue. I told them I enjoyed playing their game and was considering becoming a paying customer. They opened a ticket and gave me a reference number. After a few days of no response I contacted them to receive status. Their response included no information other than "Your ban is permanent". I feel that this is a complete injustice as I was not hacking and they offered no way for me to prove otherwise. Since I paid no money for their product, I don't feel that I have any leverage to take action. The reason I write this post is to share caution with others that this company, in my opinion, does not conduct their business using ethical and fair practices.
