The device provided to me after both of my operations was from a company called Affiliated Home Health Care. In both cases, Dr. Yun handed me a toaster-size machine as I was leaving St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica. I called Dr. Andrew Yun very upset and he told me that Brandon Macon-Maldonado and his brothe, Greg Jr. told him it was a $275 machine but he told me that after several patients have complained that he'd will no longer be prescribing Maldonado's machine for patients.After the 2010 operation my insurer, Anthem, got billed $17,500 for a few weeks' use of the knee cooler. When I called my insurer they said they paid the out-of-network to Affiliated, about $4,000 and I was stuck with the remaining $13,500. When I looked up Affiliated I found out they really are Maldonado Medical LLC from Phoenix AZ. When I called Maldonado Medical, Brandon Maxon-Maldonado told me they sent me his company's patented cooling device and the reason it's so pricey is because it works better than anything else available. There's just no comparison with other such devices, he said, "You're dealing with Ferraris and Chevys here and you got a Ferrari from us", a month later I found out that Maldonado Medical was being sued for patent infringement it turns out they copied Thermotek's machine and filed a patent, they took a Chevy and called it a Ferrari, these unscrupulous people. If you have surgery and your doctor wants to give you a machine make sure it is not from them, they constantly change company names so make sure you ask if the company owners are Maxon Maldonado. If you get a bill from them call the insurance company and ask to file insurance fraud against them. If you are a Doctor, please don't use this guys and place your patients and practice in jeopardy. They are the most unscrupulous, fraudulent folks I have ever met. I have file a report with the Attorney General and they reassure me that they are On their trail.
