Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I do have all my ducks in a row, so yes all the correspodence was sent via certified mail WITH return receipt. I did file a complaint with the attorney general's office in Illinois as well as in Colorado. I'm not sure what will come of that though. I'll start looking up some attorneys now. Thanks again

My question is when you sent the certified letter did you do it with return receipt requested? Did you keep copies - These are important pieces to take to court Been there done that - In the State of Texas the Secretary of State requires that all debt collector must have a surety bond on file - if they do not, they cannot collect Check with your State to see if it is required for that is a BIG plus for you in court Good luck and take these scum bags down visit www.budhibbs.com for more information

Hire an attorney and sue them in District Court in Denver. District court can award actual damages, statutory damages up to $1000, and reasonable attorney fees. You shouldn't have any trouble finding an attorney to handle this for you -it's easy money for both of you.
