Afni it's their word against mine but they say my word doesn't count and they can't give me any proof or valid information Bloomington Illinois
On Aug. 6, I received a collection notice from Afni for a 6 year old phone bill for a phone number I don't recognize and for an address I've never lived at. I called them and all they could give me was the year, the address and a list of about 5 male names I had never heard. They said QWest had not forwarded any actual statements or any other information and since they had the account it wouldn't do me any good to call QWest.
I called QWest to see if they could give me more information and they had the bill but all they showed was my name and SS# and that it was for "unregulated service". The bills were being mailed to a PO Box. I have never had a PO Box. I've been a good customer of QWest for over 30 years and have never received a request for payment of this delinquent bill, or I might have cleared this mess up earlier.
I don't know who was using my name and SS# in 2002 for this service, but since I know it's not me I'm going to try the "refusal letter" one of the other consumers tried and report it to our local TV station so others in my area may be on the alert to this problem.
