Purchased Total Protection ravel insurance Jan 7 2018 when booking flight. Baggage loss/delay covered in policy. Flight to Bonaire Mar 3-11. Delayed flight with United caused baggage delay to connecting flight so it never made it on plane. Baggage finally arrived the night before our departure back to AZ. 8-day vacation without personal belongings or dive gear 7 of those days. Submitted claim to AIG but they say I must submit claim to Renter's/homeowners insurance first. What? Where does it say my travel insurance is a secondary plan? My homeowner's deductible is $1500-- meaning, I have to come up with the first $1500 to file a claim, before they will pay. That was not stated anywhere in travel insurance documents. They are denying the claim, yet Total Protection offers insurance for just my situation. They are operating under unfair business practices. I would not recommend them to anyone needing travel insurance. Filing a claim is not an easy process- so many hoops to jump through, then they deny the claim!
