Runaway Bay was an OK place to live until it was time to move out. Information was withheld from me about charges that I would incur for the last month's rent. Even after filling out a form saying that I would not renew my lease, NO ONE bothered to inform me that I would incur additional charges on top of my usual rent. I called several times before the end of the last month to make sure I was paid up to date and to find out the final amount due. Each time, the computers were down and I was assured that I could divide my rent by 30 days x the number of days of rent due in the last month and submit that for my rent payment (plus water). In addition, I was also told that if any further amount was due, I would be contacted. A lie! I was never contacted. I found out about the additional charges when I received my "move out reconciliation report." I called to ask for an explanation, at which time I was told that I needed to review my original lease and that they did not need to tell me that additional funds were needed for the last month. This company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau, and now I know why! Company landlords are notoriously deceitful, and Runaway Bay is no exception.. Do yourself a favor and stay away from AIMCO!

To Russ in Brandon, Mississippi, my report specifically states Columbus, OH, as the location. Your experience in FL did not involve the same management or property. Thanks.

I lived at Runaway Bay in FL for almost two years. The staff was always courteous, and well informed. hen the hurricanes of 2004 hit our complex, AIMCO was on top of everything as far as repairs, damage, etc. After two years, I moved. AIMCO's people had all the move-out paperwork ready days before I left, had the final inspection done as I was packing my belongings into the UHaul, and had the deposit check, in its entirety, mailed to my new address within three weeks. One bad experience by the OP, one good by another poster. We report, you decide.
