I have had several issues with AIP racing.  However, most recently I brought my brand new 2009 Suzuki GSX-R 600 in for an oil change with 1755 miles on it.  When I came back to pick it up two days later, my bike had extensive damage on the entire right side.  The brake handle was completely snapped off, my fairings were scraped, my mirror, pipes, tail pipes, and more were all damaged.  When I towed it to a certified suzuki dealership the invoice came back several days later with over $3100 in damages to my motorcycle.

When I initially dropped off my motorcycle to AIP for the oil change, both my boyfriend and his assistant were with me and saw that the motorcycle was brand new with no damages.  When I went to pick it up there was a lot of damage.  Also, Bill did a walk about with me when I first brought it in and never once did he say anything about damages on my motorcycle.  If you run a shop and someone brings in a dropped bike wouldn't you ask them about fixing it for them?  When I went to pick up my motorcycle two days later and saw that my bike had been dropped Bill tried to say it was already like that when I brought it in.

Long story short the owner Chris Jones yelled at me and threatened me several times, saying "you don't want to f*** with me, I'll take you down, you are f***ing with the wrong person..." and so on.  I called the police as I wasn't sure how to handle the situation.  Prior to the police arriving Chris, the owner, took out a camera and took photos of the damages- he also took off a peice of rubber-like material that was embedded into the side of my bike from whatever it had fallen on to.  This peice of rubber would NOT have still been in my bike had I tried riding it over already damaged as it was just barely clinging to my bike.  When the police arrived, Chris Jones, moments after telling my boyfriend we couldn't have the peice back, told the police he had lost it.  They did finally get him to show them the photo of it however and marked it in their report of the situation.

After reporting Chris to the Better Business Bureau, I called the Department of Consumer Affairs to speak with the Bureaur of Automotive Repairs to file a complaint- it was then I found out two things, according to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs: that AIP/All Industries Performance/Chris Jones had been unlicensed for OVER a year and that two, it was an automatic misdemeanor to collect any money for any services performed as long as a shop is unlicensed.

So I am just warning other customers about some of the things AIP believes in so that they do not have to go through what I did.  My insurance company is still pursuing action but it really looks like I have no recourse.  Everything as far as the repairs came out of my own pocket and I STILL had to pay for the oil change.  Even though they had no license to perform it.

I have a Harley Davidson Roadglide that a brought into have a new stereo installed at AIP Racing in Van Nuys California..

I have had nothing but problems with it, such as poor product used, and large markup on substandard product.

I have now taken it to another shop, only to find out and confirm that they used poor product and charged a big markup.

I have to take some responsibility, in that, I should have researched this company, all I can do now is voice my opinion.

I will continue to tell everyone who rides a motorcycle of my experience, and would recommend not to go there.  They will be nice at first but at the end of the day u will get burned.

I don't know the real story about the complainant, but I've used AIP for repairs and servicing several times in the last couple of years and have nothing but good things to say about the shop. Every time I've brought my bike in, they have inspected my bike for any existing damage and made note it - this may be in response to the above complaint. Usually I deal with Michael. He always calls back in a few days to make sure everything is in order.

I find it very hard to believe that the owner's of AIP or their staff would ever handle a bike carlessly or handle a situation this way. They always do impecable work and always make sure that you get your bike back in better condition than you brought it in not worse. I would highly recommend AIP to anyone that needs work done on their motorcycle. Don't let one bad review from a digruntaled customer discourage you from taking your bike to AIP. Go there and try it out for yourself! You will not be dissapointed.
